    6.2 diesel coolant in oil

I had the same problem with an 09 i picked up from ft hood several yrs ago. the truck was nice and had low miles (less than 20k) but it would eat coolant and make milk shake in the crank case. long story short is that i went through all the steps you did, and at the point i was about to give up...

What Oil and Filter do you use?

I think gm would say a quart every 1500 miles is exceptable. im sure some will disagree. i think yours is plenty good. all mine use some oil. my 6.5 in my 94 k2500 uses the most with about 150k on the clock. thanks. mark

What Oil and Filter do you use?

On vehicles i plan to keep i run full synthetic, 15w-40 weight and extend my change intervals to 15k or more per manufacturer recommendation . I run filters that will do the job. If your set on a more economical change i have used 15-40 rotella or chevron for diesels. thanks. mark

New Tires - 285/75/16 on stock springs and wheels - different size spare?

This may not always be true, it depends on the manufacturer. most u.s. made tires may be close but the offshore tires are generally smaller. one example is i have a u.s. made 31x10.50-15 tire for a 1009 i had. i stood a tire of the same size next to it made by falken and it was noticably...

I dont know if you have a load coming this way but you might check out uship for something coming this way. I have used them many times to offset the cost of fuel. '84 M1009 - Won't crank - 12v Roscommon converted

If you have a good air compressor and know to remove the dash pad you can blow all that stuff out. I have had military trucks with add on a/c but not with a 12v conversion. they must have mounted the compressor where the second alternator was? thanks. mark

    '84 M1009 - Won't crank - 12v Roscommon converted

134a is pretty cheap right now at sam's. 30 lbs for less than 90 bucks.(sell some to your freinds) after market a/c units are pretty simple. turn on switch inside the cab, see if you have power at the low pressure switch. if you are out of freon you can jump this switch with a paper clip and...

Who got the cucv II in texas?

Someone was bidding against him! I noticed that this truck had a build date of what looked like 9-00. since the new body style in 2001 this may have been one of the last of the that era!

    New M1008. Many different issues.

Jack, here is where i put the license plate light. the base is ground to the bumper, hot needs to go to the brown wire (park lights) going to the tail light. This applies if your pintle hitch is still in place. the rest is easy. thanks. mark

    New M1008. Many different issues.

Jack, dont automatically assume your starter is bad, ive had to beat them once into submission and they never acted up again. also , you might want to pay attention where the fuel leak is, if its the pump it will run down the valley and out the rear of the engine and look like a rear main seal...
