Started the fun task of water pump replacement with all new hoses (not shown), now on hold because I stumbled upon the Paradox line kit to aid cooling the rear of the engine so I ordered that. Replaced fan clutch bearings seeing Its already out. I don't want to have to get back in there for awhile. Nice to be able to work on something not complicated with electronic gizmos.

I got this from Leroy Diesel. I haven’t installed it yet. It will send more water back to the radiator and less hot coolant back to the water pump. It threads into the top of the water pump. Might not make any difference but I like the idea.FA37FA85-3FB8-4CDD-922E-203DC035CECD.jpeg

I stuck a 1" wood dowel in the bypass hose and drilled a 5/16 hole in it, it made no difference that I could tell, it did seem like a good idea though.
I ended up pulling it out and again no difference.

I was thinking about the extreme heat in Las Vegas and I thought It might help on the hottest days.

I started working yesterday on sealing the rear to keep water from rolling forward out of the bed into the cabin. Everything came to a screeching halt because I don't have a compass.

Today I ran out and picked up a compass.

Home Depot sells a broken-in-half hardie-plank for 50% off. I picked up a length of C-channel (and I have a lot left over).

Concept:

Putting the compass in the game, I got the floor traced onto the board.

My jigsaw skills are pretty poor, but that's what silicone is for. I was going to use beveled head screws and nuts, but that would mean calling out soldierette B and she was busy, so I used rivnuts instead.

C-channel mounted:

With the hardie-plank painted with rapco and copious amounts of silicone, the finished product came out pretty good. I can always remove the board and cut a new one better, because I still have the other half of the plank, but this should work for now. I added two L-brackets screwed into the wood behind the AC box to make it more secure.
