Wrecker that doesn't count?

It is a wrecker, but as it's under 5 ton I guess it doesnt count!

Only 6 in total were ever fitted this way, there were only ever two serving at any given time, new ones replacing the previous as required... as in parachute failure etc!

Used by 2 PARA, for front line recovery of light vehicles, dropped in by chute from C130s.

First -- the max number of choices allowed is already up
Second -- there are NOT enough m984s or m1001s in private hands to warrant a separate category, this is what OTHER is for

Hmmmm - so what does technically count as a wrecker? Perhaps the 'crane-tractors' should NOT be counted as wreckers either, or perhaps a fifth wheel 'underlift' would then make it count, or should it have to have ground spades to be a wrecker? A tank transporter with single or dual rear winches - perhaps they count too! Hmmmm - then there are the maintenance crane trucks, are they sort of wreckers???? Maybe it is only a wrecker if an H8 drove it when in service.....

Designed and Designated as a WRECKER by the MILITARY, Does not matter who drove what, self contained without having to add anything to corvert it

The m108 technically is the only one in the list that is not a wrecker but a BOMB HANDLING CRANE TRUCK, ONE reason it is listed because it is MISTAKENLY by many called a deuce wrecker, ANOTHER reason is because it is the REASON that the m60 came into being, the 108 was used for light recovery work as a side non-design use, so the great minds of the great thinkers saw this, and thought great since thay are using a bomb handling truck for a wrecker, WHY not build a deuce wrecker, the m60 is born, now everybody that got the m60 saw a wrecker, and a wrecker is wrecker, well as people found out NOT quite so, the m60, it turned out, was way to lite for general wrecker service since it was asked to do a LOT more then the m108 was asked to do, this was the death of the m60

K-BOOM was used by the CADANIAN forces as a light recovery vehicle so it has its own spot.

The "crane-tractors" or as the MILITARY calls them TRACTOR WRECKER (m246/m819) is a carry over from WW2 where thay had the Autocars and other tractor wreckers that was used for the recovery AND the loading of aircraft
