Hello,
I removed, cleaned, and replaced the nozzles on all of my injectors last week. I'm having trouble tracking down a shop to test my injectors. Right now a couple of my hard lines running from the IP to the injectors are bent clear of the block to give me room to remove the injectors. Could...
I removed 2 glow plugs a couple of minutes ago and had the Mrs crank the engine over for 5 seconds. I have no fuel visible from the glow plug holes. I repeated this test twice. I do have fuel to the injector lines though. I'm thinking clogged injectors. Any ideas?
I appreciate all the help. I'm at work so I'm slow to respond but I have a new fuel filter assembly installed. It is a wix base with screw on filter. I filled the filter with fuel, assembled it till tight plus a 1/4 turn, then let the electric fuel pump run until clear, steady fuel came from the...
I didn't realize that they can thread on and not be seated, some didn't quite line up and I just threaded them on thinking it would seat itself. I will fix that right now.
Hello everyone. I am still having a devil of a time getting this M1008 in service. I had my IP rebuilt by a shop and reinstalled it. The truck started up quickly and ran very well for 2 days, and about 40 miles. The only issue was some stalling on deceleration followed by extended cranking to...
I bought a rebuild service off eBay. I pulled my pump, mailed it to the guy in Arizona, and received it back in about 2 weeks. Looks like they did a top notch job and the price was about 300 with shipping. It was Diesel Injection Services. PM me if you need more info.
I have an electric airtex pump installed. Be careful which model you purchase, i got one that was for a civvy early 90's chevy diesel and it has metric fittings on it.
New electric pump mounted near tank, all rubber lines recently replaced, my filter base looks suspect and a new one is on order. I take that recommendation to mean air in the return line is indicative of air in the supply line also? Thank you for the quick reply. I'm perusing the TM's now.
I am having hard starting issues after a day of the truck running like a champ. I hooked a clear line up to my return off my IP and the fuel coming from the IP appears to be clear of all air bubbles. However air comes from the return lines and forms a bubble at the the top of hose. After the...
Is the exhaust smoking at all when cranking? I believe a lack of smoke could indicate a lack of fuel being delivered.
Also use a jumper wire with 12v to where the pink wire connects on the pump. This is your fuel shutoff solenoid and if it is stuck you won't being going anywhere, you should...
I had my IP rebuilt by a shop in Arizona, they mailed the pump back to me with this part unattached. I'm not sure where it goes. Can anyone help?
Thank You,
