6-7 hrs 375miles. I will let you know how the final mounting goes sunday. I will be at work tommorrow so no work will get done on it. I appreciate the help. Tough to get a fire company to spend money on something they got for free and hope to put very little into it.
I'll have to take a ride sometime and look at the junkyards. The mount that had come with this plow was one of their ez classics where the hoops two tubes just slide into the two tubes in the mount and then you can hook it all up afterwards. I will take pics and post when we are done, last...
The best price we have found for the plow mount setup for a 85 K30 pickup is about $500. The plow and mount we have had been donated by one of our junior members. This is just to plow two lots, one paved one gravel. so we are trying to put as little money into it as possible. That is our hope...
definately would be interested in more pics on the mount setup. we are working on installing a meyer plow on our fire company's M1028. Where has everyone put the support bars that go from the bottom of the plow mount back to the frame? We are trying to save some money and are using the existing...
When units couldn't get the M1031 contact trucks, they took the maintenance body off of the old dodge M880's and put them usually on M1028's . On an M1008 sounds like a rared thing from what I have seen.
I have had this happen multiple times to me. They had alot of bad castings for these nosecups. Have showed them to people that do casting and metal work and that was what they said with each one of mine. One of the main reasons I changed to 12V was all of the starter problems I had along with...
RE: Re: RE: Block heater
I can't remember how much the coolant heaters run, I got mine at NAPA, but the engine must be warm when you plug them in cause the thermostat has to be open. This is according to the directions off of them. The one I have is the 2000W Katz heater, I went to the next...
keeping below 55 I have still managed 22mpg even with a bum pump, but only once, and that was when the odometer still read within 5 mph of my gps, now the odometer is pretty much toast and I have to replace it. I used to get 22mpg doing 70-75 all the time so they can get good milage.
Sorry about that Mike, I saw that we were in the same situation and jumped in. I didn't mean to Hijack your thread and thought it would be redundant to add another IP thread while there was one running. I will do that in the future on other questions I have as to not hijack someones thread. I am...
I just pulled it directly from the Transportability Guidance that you can download from the sticky at the top of the CUCV threads in the manual section. I know my tag on the M1028 say GVW9400 but I thought it was best to post what the manual stated.
Though the -20 states M1008 curb weight is...
The M1028 also is rated higher than the M1008. That might be what you are thinking of. The M1008 has a GVW of 8800 lbs the curb weight is 5900 lbs, while the M1028 has a GVW rating of 9350 lbs and a curb weight of 5750 lbs according to the transportability TM.
Ok I was going to have one of the local mechanics I know take care of this for me. How difficult is it to do myself if I got the IP and injectors from a place like Trey's. What would i need to have them take care of for me to make sure they are calibrated right. Should I also expect to get good...
so what you are saying is since I have already put a turbo on it would be better to get a 6.5L one. I do want to get good fuel mileage too. One of the reasons I am doing the pump in the first place since I used to get 20+mpg now it is less than 16mpg.
RE: Re: can anyone tell me if this is a gear reduction start
Well I have two brand new group 31 optima batteries that are 1125CA (cranking amps) each should be more than enough. I had also listed their cold cranking amps which was the 950CCA. The battery cables for those 2 are 2/0 welding wire...
RE: Truck is progressing steadily
The other day ravine was $3.80 cash I think but it could be down to $3.78. Best overall is still exit 90 cash is the $3.72 cash I am filling up when I goto work on sunday. Ravine used to really gouge but they seem to be a bit better now, just remember the sign...
RE: Truck is progressing steadily
Ok on my way into work I forgot to look at the one in Ravine off I-81, here is what I saw on the way down.

I-81 exit 90 was cash $3.72 credit $3.78
I-81 exit 77 was cash $3.78
Pottsville was still $4.39 and I couldn't see...
