Lookin good Joel! I just saw your PM from the other night, sorry I did not get it earlier, I would have gone along to help.
Let me know if you need any parts, I may be able to help.
Kool brake lights!
You would probably want some real deuce lights? I should be able to round up a spare pair...
Robert, do they have restrictions regarding your tag. ie: no night driving, fully restored, low miles per year etc.?[/b][/size]
No restrictions except no commercial use. This is the tag they give street rodders. They know the vehicles won't be daily drivers, but they will get some miles every...
I use Allstate in Carrollton, Ga. $220 a year. Call Alisha Windom at 770-838-9449. Tell her you have a deuce and a half like Robert Miller's truck. She'll know what to do. She is great to deal with. My truck has a "Hobby/antique" Ga. tag.
I would imagine M-105 springs would be in better shape than deuce springs. I can't imagine they sit around for years with 8-9K# on them. You can find rusty M-105's for around $100 around here.
Yeah, remember the myth of the "vapor carburator"? Supposedly gave 200 MPG and was being suppressed by the "evil oil companies".
I would like to see one of the American based oil companies start commercial bio diesel production. They have the distribution network already in place. I would...
Low lead gas was way in the future when these engines were designed and built. I do remember the small block Chevy's went to stellite valve seats when unleaded was mandated. Tetra-ethyl lead lubricates valve seats.
Looks like the shoe hold-down broke on the trailing shoe and let it cut through the drum. This was not too uncommon a problem on the older cars with drum brakes, although I never saw it on a deuce or a big truck. If the hold down breaks, the shoe retractor spring will cause the shoe to push out...
I would imagine that most of the auger trucks ended up being used to death by power and phone line contractors when they were surplused off. Some people like the rare stuff, and more power to them!!
I wouldn't really have any use for one, but if I fund one I could snag.........
I would end up...
Every business has little blips on occasion. However, they shouldn't happen all the time. I see some quality control issues with some of the welded products I have seen pictures of, mainly leaks in things that should not leak. It also appears that extremely long delays are the norm. Starting a...
I recognized your handle. No prob, I don't bid against people I know from here. These look to be weld in units. From the pics posted bu deuceswild it looks like sometimes they get bolted in without the reinforcement plate.
Those pictures help! The ones I have seen for sale have what looks like an outer cover that would bolt up outside the bed. Looks like it would be a reinforcement as well. I guess I will pick up a set or two and install them in mine. It is handy to be able to tie things down on occasion.
