A good location for a Pyrometer Thermocouple?

I've seen people drill exhaust manifolds with the engine running. Go slow, drill a 1/8 pilot hole. The exhaust coming out of the pilot hole will blow the fine cast iron chips out as you drill. This was on some turbo site on the internet, so your mileage may vary.

    Do I have a "D" turbo or a "C" turbo?

Sick puppies. Just send me those quiet old D turbos. I'll give them good homes.

    Mirror arms

Hmm, I may want to go with that style mirror. My West Coast mirrors vibrate like mad at most any speed. I see blurs at anything over about 30 mph. I guess it is time to start hunting.......

    Value of M35?

I paid 3K$ for mine. Nearly new vinyl soft top, turbo, heater, spring drivers seat, seat belts, full set of 1100 radials and flipped hubs, jack, air hose setup. Decent 383 CARC. Had to put a battery on within a month, other than that, no problems. I have seen them for about a grand, and as...

Convert a M105A to Chevy 8 lug wheels?

I took and old 3/4 ton Chevy rear end that had the full floating axles and cut it down to make a trailer axle, long ago. The center section and axles were already gone, all that was left was the housing and hubs. You can either bolt a cover plate to cover the hole where the center section was...

    govliq 6.2 auctions?

All the HMMVW's that are being rebuilt at MCLB Albany are getting the 6.5's. Many of the vehicles come in under their own power, so I would imagine at least 1/2 of the motors were running when they were pulled. As far as I know, the 6.2 is the same as the civvy engine, accessories are different...

    Big Dumb Trailer ...more pics

There were actually some articulated trucks built that way over the years, HEMMTS are now. You want the driveshafts to pivot as close to the vehicle connection (pintle hook in this case) as possible. You would want to run a driveshaft up from the rear axle drive flange to a pillow block bearing...

    TRANNY HELP ! ! ! !

RE: Re: RE: TRANNY HELP ! ! ! ! Wimps. A real mechanic can eat a grilled cheese sandwich with black hands. The grease running down your arms from the sandwich should clean the black grease off in streaks. Does keep you really regular as well!

M105A fit in bed of Deuce

Chain the thing in, you don't want it to roll into the cab if the truck slams on the brakes!

    Deuce transmission, 3rd gear.

The trannies are easy to remove, gravity helps out a lot! Getting them back up is a bit harder, but by no means impossible.

Me and my Deuce FISH for residents in Trenton, NJ

Make sure you service all the wheel bearings. As deep as you were, check the tranny and t-case for water. In that one picture, you were very close to getting a slug of water into the engine, not a good thing. Look up the threads that Cranetruck has on fording his deuce. If you are going to...
