383. The stuff fades fairly quickly, and holds a lot of surface dust. My truck gets decidedly greyish from the dust around here until the rain washes it down.
Also, the Hypercycle engine was specifically designed top provide a slow, even, burn with a wide variety Cetane of fuels. The pistons have to be fairly heavy to accomodate that deep combustion chamber. I believe a purpose designed Diesel engine can provide more power than the Multifuel. But...
The LDS 465 book states that "the crankcase is made of cast iron. It is designed for maximum rigidity by extending the sides of the crankcase below the centerline of the crankshaft. The main bearing caps are provided with maximum support by recessing them into transverse webs which are cast...
I would like some pics or drawings of the deuce ROPS. Most of the wrecked ones I have seen have gone over the top.
It would definately need to be heavy!
Decisions, decisions, decisions.
Deuce wreckers are reall cool! The pipeline truck is neat, but I don't know how useful unless you own an oil field. The wrecker, now.....
You could be the most popular guy in the convoy!
Your pipeline project looked like a good bit of work, since you really...
I've noticed that deuces in Montgomery or Atlanta go way higher than I would want to pay. I see better ones on E-Bay for less money. The best deals seem to be St. Juliens Va., and Ft. Riley Kansas. I have also seen some fair prices in Tenn. and Ky.
For $1000-2000 less than around here, I can...

Send me your snail mail address and I'll get a deuce manual CD out to you. I have all the multifuel engine manuals in there, along with 98% of all deuce mechanical manuals. If you don't have DSL or T1, downloading manuals takes forever. It took me several hours on a T1 line to get them downloaded.
If you want, I'll be glad to come along and help crawl around. I can even drive mine up there and let you take it for a spin.
Give me a buzz if you are interested, 770-301-9991 (cell)
I may be able to help wth cab parts. I am picking up a cab and chassis from a shop van. The floors are rusted, but I think we could cut out some other parts.
I live in Carrollton, Ga. I can go with you to inspect, if you give me a couple of days notice. I can also tow a deuce home behind mine if you win one.
