Not to hijack Eric's thread, but will put this here in the hopes it may help someone in a similar situation:
So... after further attempts to prime my fuel system and start the truck, I gave up and removed the Fuel/Water separator and found this..
A fairly large amount of aluminum metal...
Eric,
I've had few fuel issues lately as well, after my solenoid replacement and now running it empty. My studies of the 3116 CAT fuel system indicate a few check valves, that if clogged or stuck open could possibly cause the loss of prime problem.
I plan to go at mine again this afternoon. I...
Exactly, I believe I ran it out of fuel. It was showing 1/8 on the gauge at the time. Not sure if the gauges or float is adjustable or not.
I will have time this weekend to re-prime and fire it up again. Going forward I will fill up after it hits 1/4 tank.

Here is the definition of 'Motor-home' that applies to our conversions in the Great State of Nevada!
"NRS 482.0151 “Chassis-mount camper” defined. “Chassis-mount camper” means a portable unit designed to be permanently affixed to a truck chassis and cab, and so constructed as to provide...
On my A-0, as you lower the cab, the lock engages and the cab ride sensor re-adjust the cab level to where it should be. That may be what you are seeing.

I will soon have a set of stock A-o door handles that are keyed for sale.
As soon as the FMTV parts guys have the upgrade kits back in stock that is...

I would imagine with raising the seats a higher steering wheel would be good for your back.
I have a brief meeting with my fabricator. He will be giving me the rough 'draft' of the parts in the next week or so.
Once finalized he will be making 10 complete adapters which will be for sale...
Why yes, we are on a first name basis!
At least when the fire went out I had a vague idea of where to start looking. I knew it was most likely not another fuel cutoff solenoid.. I'm usually such a freak about keeping fuel in the tank... Doh!!

After I got it running again, we took a friend out locally for a short drive.
A half-mile from home, it quit with the fuel gauge in the yellow (enough???). Towed it home with the wife's F-250 Super Duty.
Now its lost its prime, and we know how much fun that can be...

After much more digging into the TM's, I did find a schematic page showing the connections which I will attach once my scanner hooks up.
That being said, there was one wire not correctly labeled per the schematic, #TL66. It show on the schematic as simply 54.
So, there are three wires going...
Mkcoen,
I did see Adventure Driven's rig. A nice adaptation for the 1079, and a pleasure to chat with.
I agree with your assessment on the Hunter rig. These folks are my 'neighbors' in my same county. I'm hoping to meet them and learn more about what they have been doing. As stated, running...
After returning from our Overland Expo Trek, it came time to remove the three post fuel solenoid borrowed from a CAT loader and install the new one. Thinking I have the wiring correct, I do not get a 'click' from the new two post unit and the starter does not work.
Can someone have a quick...
I do not see why not. Its is a small 1.5 by 1.5 inch square module, similar to what I have seen for Garmin and XM radio units. I have never tried to 'T' these so that would be a neat trick to run multiple GPS units off of one 'antenna'..

To add to what Awesomness says, the biggest improvement in 'on-the-road' operation improvement for my truck was getting the driveshafts squared away.
This included fixing the loose splines, straightening and balancing.. I'm now looking forward to installing my 3.07 gears and lowering the speed...
Chapter 4: WOW!, its Vendor-Rama!!
Friday am @ 0600. All I could think about was coffee... I do not know about you, but my day always starts with at least two to synchronize my brain cells. Thank God for Starbucks Via. After waking up we decided to head over to the vendor area. After getting a...
Chapter Three: Cab heat and lousy pavement..
After losing time with the repair we began to make some miles, headed toward Las Vegas and our eventual crossing of the Colorado River. It was only 91 deg. in Glitter Gulch this day, but it pointed the need to add AC to the cab sooner than later...
Ok folks, here is the final install on this Speedo Post. Here is what I ordered from a popular online site: Samdo 85mm SOG COG ODO TRIP Meter
The reasons for choosing this model was that it would fit the existing hole in the panel, and that it was GPS powered which avoided the need to...
