wsucougarx,
This thread will be absolutely priceless when I get to rebuilding my turbo.
Thanks for taking the extra time to slow down and take pics for our benefit.
Next time your in my neck of the woods, I'm on the hook for a frosty beverage of your choice!
Dave
Thanks to Jatonka! He was nice enough to post the PDF on his website.
It is now freely available to anyone who wants it. I am confident it will come up on a Google search in the next couple weeks, it doesn't right now though.
JATONKA's M35 TM download page
Thanks,
Dave
Why can I never get "www . m35a3 . net" -- (no spaces) to load?
But I noticed if I let SS turn the link into this:
The Deuce| Military Vehicles | Military Deuce 2 1/12 Ton | Bobbed Deuce | M35A3 | Steel Soldiers |
It loads just fine?
--- EDIT ---
Now typing the address in the...
Uhhh Mike,
We have a problem! The TM I have in PDF form (and just emailed you) is the 9-2990-201-45. I copied the cover page and posted below.
That TM appears not to cover the model number you show.... I had pulled the TM number shown above in this thread. Maybe that one is incorrect? Or...
Thanks for the pointers 73m819, unfortunately all those are dead ends!
I ended up coming upon a paper copy on Ebay. 15 bucks later I have it in my hot little hands. Thanks to an auto-feeding scanner I also have it in PDF form.
[thumbzup]
I'm hoping that Jatonka can post it on his site...
Subscribed!
The blue smoke on deceleration tells me I am in the market for some new seals.
WSCougarX, don't forget to post back if it is the right kit and how it works out for you!
Thanks,
Dave
FlyingVan, Runk,
Thanks to both of you, but no dice at either site.
I will be bookmarking them for future TM searches though.
Any other ideas from other people? Maybe I can buy the turbo manuals in paper form?
Thanks,
Dave
SS,
Has anyone found an electronic copy of the Deuce Turbocharger manual?
I have found a couple different manual numbers, but haven't found anything via google search (and here I thought google knew more than God!). I tried LOGSA, but it appears you have to have some credentials to search...
Bingo... I am taking it to the scrap yard, so I'm not so worried about the grill being intact when it gets there.
Riddle, the car is hanging from chain run through the bumperettes on the deuce and around the lower control arms / axle / strut on the car.
Dave
Whoops! I hit the submit button before I could add the pics...
I promise this isn't an attempt to inflate my post count. We all know Gimpy does that better than anyone else on SS!
The wife and I bought her a new(ish) car about 6 months ago. Her old car is a 1996 Buick Century. The transmission was slipping, there were some crazy gremlin-type electrical things (I know its likely a ground somewhere, but I just don't have the patience to track it down), body rust, vinyl...
Indyfab,
Thanks for the bump, I had nearly forgotten the dates on this..
In case you were thinking that the laurel hotel is a hotel.... Its really not! Is there somewhere else close that has rooms for the night?
Aside from that, I'm a maybe for coming. It always depends on what...
:ditto:
I towbar-ed an M109A3 back with an M35A2 ~ 75 miles once. I hadn't hooked up the other truck's brakes and by the end of the trip (I guess I used enough shoe material that they needed adjusting?) the 109 pushed me straight through a red light!
I could have told you how the seat...
Recover quickly sparky! The green machines will be waiting for you when you get better!
Auggie, is this a Saturday only thing? I might be able to catch up with some people Sunday afternoon... If I can convince the wife to postpone the shopping trip....
Dave
big hoss,
I completely agree with m16ty and treeguy.
I completely tore apart my PTO before I hung it on the transmission. The needle bearings and roller bearings looked to be in serviceable condition.
Before I hooked up the driveshaft, I ran it through the all the gears. Just like you...
JCKnife,
I am in Southern Indiana (Columbus). I have the M35 that is running but not "pretty" (it has become a Haspin 6 wheel truck!). The M109A3 is off the ground on 6 jackstands awaiting a bearing repack and rebuild. I can likely have it back together by then, but that assumes Murphy...
JCKnife,
Did you pull the bushings from their spacer plates? If you are asking about installation of the bushing into the plate, I would use some red loctite during assembly.
If you are asking about sealant between the king pin itself and the bushing... Aboslutely DO NOT use sealant there...
JCKnife,
Give SSer "ccequipment" a call. Clinton (ebay store here: M35A2 parts, M809 series 5 ton parts items in C and C Equipment store on eBay! ) is absolutely a blast to do business with. His shop is in Unionville Indiana (which is about 30 minutes west of the Columbus / Bloomington exit...
