My curt hitch also game with grade coarse threads. 3 of them sheared off with in a week towing a trailer way under max weight for the hitch. Switched em to fine thread and have yet to have a problem.
Whew it was a fun weekend. Lots of laughter to be had at Scotts and my expense:D. Got 6 brand new 395 goodyears for my deuce, extremely happy about that, hope to have them mounted and on the truck within a week or so. Sadly I took no pictures. The next one wont come soon enough, had a good time...
Im leaving friday afternoon. Sometime between like 3-5PM. If ya want rolling, we can meet at Jatzen Beach @ the Safeway there. Give me a call tomorrow 503-318-6756.
PS. Just filled the M105 up with firewood so having a roaring campfire wont be an issue this year. Id wager almost a full cord.
Ah. The rally must be getting close. Was doing some pre trip inspections today and my wiring harness kinda seperated. Little luck and electrical tape and I should have it back together. My harness is more or less toast. So glad I had Dan make one. Cant wait ti fix all the electrical gremlins on...
I was going to get a set of 6TLs for my truck through interstate batteries. Until I found a set of group 31s(i think) 1100 CCA batteries for 120ea. Cheaper and more CCA. Cant go wrong there.
If it comes down to it. Ill help at the rally. Last week I broke down almost 30 900x20s. Got really good at it. I would highly recomend getting a tire lubricant as I had better luck with that then regular soap. Turns out 30 deuce rims weights almost 3000lbs.
Ive taken my deuce many times into sandlake. I can almost do the beach hill at 15psi all the way around. Its fun when ya drive down the big bowl. Looks are priceless cruising around the sand.
I'm pretty sure I'm doing down next weekend for a few days.
Last time I painted my rims I was in a hurry so I didnt mask it off. I just brushed the tire along a curb for a full rotation and took all the paint off. A little armor all on the tire, and she looked like new.:grd:
I am doing everything I can think of to not bring that award back home, Even though I have a nice spot for it on my desk, I have the nagging feeling that I am going to get it again. Im coming loaded for bare tho, Few extra tires, extra belts, extra filters, even maybe a spare truck in tow on a...
I built a light bar that utilizes the convoy light/gunring leg mounts on the back of the cab. Plan on running 9 6" 100w lights. Bout a bunch of the HF 6in housings and replaced the bulbs. Ill try and track down a picture of it for ya. Its currently off of my truck.
