I've done some looking into IFTA, and have talked with a man at the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. IFTA controls the taxation of motor carriers between states. Any vehicle other than an RV with 3 axles is considered an "eligible vehicle" as far as IFTA is concerned. I was told...
As said before, you seem to have things well in hand. The 10 days to pick up the trailer is 10 business days, so keep that in mind if your GL site is only open 3 days a week.
Welcome to the site.
Okay, getting ready to call my friend at the festival and tell her the about the lack of response. I'd take mine every day, but we'll be in a refueling outage at the nuclear plant I work at while it's going on. Hopefully next year will be better.
I'm going to take some measurements tomorrow, but I think mounting a spare (or two) behind the wheels on a M105A2 wouldn't look terrible. Have them sticking out far enough to allow the cover to be tied down. Something like below. Or with the offset of the hubs it could be mounted closer as in...
I'm going to start following this thread, I've got the same question for my M105A2. Maybe I can design something that might work. Time to put the thinking cap on....
Due to my past involvement volunteering with the Virginia Arts Festival and the Virginia International Tattoo, I was asked if it was possible to get some military vehicles to display at the Tattoo this year. What they (the festival)are looking for is 3-5 vehicles of various sizes/era's to be in...
So I took the deuce through the local scales yesterday. My first time ever through a set of scales, and it was anti-climactic to say the least. Approaching the scales, on the green light, reading the sign that says stop on red, go on green. Got on the scale, the light flashed red for about...
@ Ruppster
You are correct about the weight. >7500 lbs registered GVW requires stopping at the scales. Getting caught not stopping is a misdemeanor. Good thing there is only one scale in the area. I'll keep an eye out for others while I'm driving around. I'm going to take the truck out...
I've had my deuce registered in Virginia for over a year now. It's registered as an antique vehicle.
I can't use it as a daily driver, such as driving back and forth to work, but with my commute and the mileage a deuce gets, that's not an issue. Pleasure driving within 250 miles of your...
Did you try to blow backwards through the #5 line? I believe the flowpath is from the IP to the injectors, then through the secondary filters before returning to the tank. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, please. A friend had problems with a leaking IP and he found out the best course was to...
help with the deuce
I agree that breaking loose the lines coming from the IP at the injectors is the best way to check the IP. I'd be more than happy to come out Sunday morning and lend any help I can, I just have to be back at the house by noon. The TM has you check the air filter as well to...
spare tire equipment
minimum equipment to change a deuce tire; 1 1/2" hex socket, 13/16" square socket (1 1/2" budd socket combines these), 3//4" breaker bar with long extension, hydraulic bottle jack, 2 jack stands (one for the axle, the other for the extension), piece of steel pipe (cheater...
OE wrench won't work. PM'd you to give me a call, maybe we can meet up midway between Hampton and VB. I've had to change a few tires recently we can talk about some tricks.
