I have been searching and reading the forum and the manuals and I can't find anything definitive on making the volt meter work in a 12 v system.
I found a thread with pictures that shows a 300 ohm resistor but my meter doesn't look like the one in the pic...
Is there anyone in San Antonio that could do me a huge favor? I need someone to pick up some parts, strap them to a pallet and drop them off at a freight company's dock.
I'd be willing to compensate with some federal reserve notes.
I am buying a banks turbo take off and i have a question for anyone that has actually put a banks turbo on their truck.
I am getting all the parts but what I need to know is what has to be done to the exhaust?
What I mean is, once all the parts are on will this system simply tap into the...
I am in need of a glove box with the plastic hinge still in tact or a solution to fix mine.
Mine is still functional but I only have about two inches left of the "hinge"

Has anyone used this style of block heater?
http://www.ssdieselsupply.com/product_141_Engine_Block_Heater_kit_Tank_Style.html
I'm incline to do this route for the ease of install but there in lies my question...
If you look at the heater hoses that go to the heater core, one comes from the...
So, this is the second time I have broken a starter bolt off in the block.
I did some searching on the forum and found that there is a bracket that supports the front of the starter. I don't have this bracket and that is prolly what is causing the bolts to break.
Anyone have a picture of the...

I'm getting a clunking in the rear when I lift off the throttle or coast down hill. I replaced my drive shaft u-joints and it is still happening.
It happens at all speeds and the rate of clunk is hand in hand with the speed of the vehicle.
clunk-clunk ... clunk-clunk ... clunk-clunk like...
When I brake and come to a stop, sometimes, when I accelerate, I get this bump, more of a bumm sound. It seems to be coming from the rear. I don't even know where/ how to start trouble shooting that.
It is not a clunk or a thud... the only way I can describe it is a soft bumm and it doesn't...

Anyone know if this will work with an M1009? And, is 2.5" worth the effort and/or money?
Thanks
Jason
There is a guy parting out a '94 6.5 turbo and I'd like to try to get the turbo and put it on my '85 M1009.
Can I use this turbo for my '85 6.2? Or is there a better year to look for?
Can anyone tell me or give me a list of all the parts that I will need to take from the '94 6.5?
Are these...
M1009 12 volt system - won't start. I've had it for about a year and only had issues when I park on a hill with the nose up.
I installed an electric fuel pump (brand new) to solve the "hill parking" issue
I pulled the fuel line from the output of the filter and activated the pump... I have...
Has anyone removed the stock fuel filter and replaced it with a screw-on type?
I'd like to get rid of the stock filter and replace it with a cheaper screw-on type but I don't know how to remove the OEM filter mount which is also the fuel cut-off (isn't it)
I think I found out why I killed my starter...when I park in the part of my driveway that is sloped I have to crank the engine an excessive amount in the morning then I get a high rev start then it dies... then more cranking with the pedal floored... then it starts.
So, my question is... why...
I have a problem this morning... My wife went out to take the kids to school and tried to start the truck (M1009). Well it turned over a few times and then turned like the batteries were dying. So I tried to jump it with my civy diesel van... no luck.
I put it on a charger for about an hour...
