You are making me even more confused than ever with contradictory information.
If you checked continuity between the master switch and the solenoid it should NOT have been good. Because you have a normally open K3 contact in that circuit to contend with.
If it was "good" and you bypassed it...
That's one of the main reasons I decided to convert it back to a 1028. I figure with the weight of the welder/generator and that big azz box I'm carrying around at least 1500 excess pounds. And that equates to way too much lost fuel.
When I had my 3/4 ton Ram, that truck didn't start to ride...
We'll keep that plan in mind.
I was starting to disassemble the extra pieces of the welder/generator for removal just this morning, the parts that connect it to the box. As I'm doing that, I started thinking about why in the world I would want to keep it. I have generators so I don't need it...
I need to get with John Moore sometime this week. He said he might have a line on an entire truck with a nice bed cheap! Or I/we still need to find something.
I would expect mine to get a lot better as well once I remove the 1 ton of excess weight I have to haul around every time I move the...
I know it has been a long time since this thread has ben used, but I don't drive the truck a whole lot. Over the weekend I took the 1028/1031 to the Findlay Armed Forced Day show and back. Firstly, if you've never been there you need to go, it is a BLAST!!!
Anyway, this summer I plan on...
And the last few, as well as a short video of one of the chopper flight take-offs right after I arrived...Pretty awesome.

I couldn't agree more Kenny.
If you keep it cool, via extra cooling with an aftermarket transmission cooler. Don't run it in anything but 3rd when you are towing or hauling heavy loads and make sure you have the means to manually lock up the converter in 3rd for these instances, I feel you...
I'm at work, Just logged in to see what was up. Had a FANTASTIC time at the show. It was great getting to see everybody again, even gimp.
Made a few good deals, sold almost everything (the few things there were) I took to sell. I took some pics of the cool toys, but until I get to my...
I don't even know what to say!!
I've only have the privilege of meeting Tigger two times, both at the GA rally. But I can tell you this, he was one of the best. Many of you may remember as I do, the first time I met him he was recovering from injuries sustained when he selflessly ran his semi...
I'm getting anxious to get there and see some good friends again. I should be rolling in HOPEFULLY before noon tomorrow, I have to work tonight or I would be there now.
Monkeyboyarmy, that dedication to work can't possibly be worth it!
Fluke is the only meter I will use...EVER. That are the best. I trust my life to them every day in the mill.
That being said the 179 is en excellent choice, and the one I carry daily at work. The 87v stays in the tool box until I need it. It has all the features of the 87v but a smaller...
I almost forgot, I recently acquired this RIGID pipe threader. It will accept pipe dies up to 2". This one is the 230 volt model. It looks as if it has never been used, but sitting for a while. I haven't tested it yet to see if it works, but I will do that before I come up to Findlay. These...
The big guy has a backhoe....he can fix his own ruts!!!!
It'll give him a reason to play with the toy, that's what I did when my wife made big ruts in my yard.
Gimp,
Did you, or can you get my stuff from last years GA rally to Kip to bring to Findlay since you cannot make it? Sorry to hear you have to work. It sucks when making a living gets in the way of life.
I re-read this thread, and I am confused as to your actual symptoms and problem.
First, you said you unplugged the harness at the IP. Did you plug it back in?
Next you said you used a remote starter switch and were able to get the set to fire off. How exactly did you hook up the remote...
The solenoid will retract and stay retracted for as long as the master switch is held in the "start" position. It will also stay retracted in either of the "Prime & run" positions only as long as you have oil pressure and are not overheating. The instant you turn the master switch to "off"...
