My truck has safety switches that will not allow the system to engage unless the transfer case is in neutral and the transmission is in drive.
"I had to run dials on gen up to 240/245 v so that everything in house works properly." What dials are you adjusting?

The manuals you need are 9-4940-562-13 and 9-4940-562-24P. I don't think these have been released, but I can look them over on the base if there is something specific you are trying to troubleshoot.

You do need to be careful when ordering parts for our CUCVs. For the most part we can go by the K30 designation, but there can be a few snags in the process. I had to order a radiator overflow bottle for my 86 M1031. I went to the local Chevy dealer and ordered one for a 86 K30 (I'm lucky to...
I was under the impression that the trailer tongue was designed to fold up against the front of the bed for transport. I didn't think the front pivot points were designed to be released to dump the bed. I've seen it being done, but didn't think it was intentional in the design.

It has something to do with the weight and the 101 falls under the limit. I still was able to register it and get a plate, but no title. The 105 is a lot heavier and might require a title. I think the requirement was 1500 pounds, but don't quote me on that one...

Re: RE: A Different Belt Question
Sure did, but no luck. I also did a search and found a lot of info on belts, but nothing about installing a belt after deleting the left alternator. I could try the string method, but I want to get the "Gatorback" belt and they are a special order item...
I have removed the #1 (driver's side) alternator from my truck and converted to a 12 volt system. The truck has run fine for the past year, but I'd like to install a second belt to the crank/power steering pump/water pump. Does anyone happen to have a belt number to accomplish this?

Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: GL Trouble
This might be the case for most auctions. I received my SF-97s two months ago and they were created prior to the auction even being advertised on GL. My SF-97s had nothing to do with the sale to me, but seemed to be a transfer from the...
Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: GL Trouble
I'd say it's a little misleading to say that GL is selling the vehicle, then charging for the title. The cost of the title is specified in the terms and each prospective buyer should be reading these terms prior to bidding on the item. I...
I'm not too sure where you pulled this idea from, but I can tell you it's wrong. I spent 26 years maintaining AF vehicle fleets. The AF vehicles are maintained to mfg specifications throughout their life. Each vehicle has a life expectancy that is established by a combination of age...
I'm thinking it's a JB8 also. The JB8 is a 10,000 pound system and that's what my VIN indicates. I was just looking to replace the front pads and rotors, but I had three different parts houses tell me they had to have the RPO code.

I bought one of the GMA covers for my M101. It's not "canvas", but I think it's a better material. Their customer service is great, something one doesn't see very often anymore.

Does anyone happen to know the brake code (JB7, JB8, etc.) for a M1031 (I think the M1008 would be the same)? I'm looking to change some of the front brake components, but need the code for the system. I usually find it on the slip in the glove box, but this slip doesn't list the brake system...
