Really comes down to what you want to do with the truck! You want a driver and the mpg. thing is important then put the 6.2 back! you want a play toy then need not say more. Even in a 1009 the big block if stock will not be bad on gas! And not a real bad swap just remember to swap the torque...

:ditto: the older parts are getting few and far between to find! the scrap prices be up is making all the spares people use to keep, End up in the scrap! If you are able to rebuild I think it is the way to go besides being able to say I did that is priceless!!

Problem with grinding to fit terminals is
#1 you could break the post off then junk plug
#2 your on the road have to change them no grinder you cant plug them in
#3 all the replacements have the larger terminals. just change plugs and never worry about it again plug and play then!
