Gen 1 failed last week and I replaced it with new one. now truck is power is surging. Lights get brighter then darker, and the volt gage goes into the red? is it the alternator or a voltage regulator ?
Does anyone know how long a set of glow plugs should last before needing to be replaced? I have had a hard time starting the past few days with the cold snap. I looked all over forum, but hasn't found anything, thanks
I'm a little confused, My 1009 is not shifting into 2nd until it hits 25mph, then about 45mph into 3rd. Is the throttle vacuum valve bad? I have ajusted it back, then forward and still same symptoms. I checked all the hoses and they are fine. Does it needs replaced, or can I clean it?
just turned over 100,000 miles, had a question about preventive maintenance? TM talks about changing the injector pump, is this something required? or should I just wait till it stops? thanks
Today, I started by just checking of couple of easy things. I unplugged the GP control harness, and put in a new fuse and now everything works, except of course the glow plugs. The glow plug harness has been replaced, could it be the glow plug relay on the fire wall, causing the it to blow the fuse?
It's just very strange that it worked fine for 2 weeks, then started blowing control fuse?? did I get a bad harness? pm me the details on your harnesses? thanks
My 1009 keeps blowing the engine control fuse. I found some exposed wires on the glow plug controller housing. does anyone know where I can get a replacement? thanks
Thanks for all you guys help! My fuel gauge quit working this morning, then when I got home glow plug relay would not work. I tracked down #17 fuse and it was blown, went to wally world and bought some fuses, cleaned everything up real goood, and put some dielectric grease on it and sure enough...
thanks,
I checked the service light position switch, used some electrical cleaner and broke what ever loose and it worked! Should I use some dielectric grease on that switch too?
Thanks Tony, I checked the fuses and they are ok, it's just weid that all the lights quit at the same time. I didn't know if the headlights and turn signals were connected in some way
Got in my M1009 this morning and no headlights? tried the turn signals and they are not working too! Are they on the same fuse? could it be the dash switch?
thanks
