got a funny ticking noise in my 1009. under light load it sounds like a ticking exhaust manifold leak but its not. Under highway speeds it quiets down. IP timing is right on the money, all cylinders fire. IP is only less than a year old. Any ideas?
Yes, the gasoline with alcohol eats up the floats on these engines, and the floats don't float anymore. Here in NY I can't find any straight gasoline anymore. Anyone else????
Has anyone here come up with a fix for these carburetor floats? I have a couple of these engines and the floats are not very compatible with this new gasoline. I'm also out of good floats and no one seems to have them. thanks
I spent a lot of time on "what seats are in a m1009". Come to fine out they are a match to s-10 pickup truck bucket seats, circa 1983-1990. The same pattern is not out there but other covers complete with hog rings and pliers in a lot of colors and patterns are available. Just google s-10 seat...
Mine did this a few times, I found the heater fuse to be not very tight in the socket. I cleaned the socket with electrical contact cleaner and haven't had a problem since.
if you ever find out what seats the m1009 are out of, please let me know. they are not out of a k5 blazer, ask me how I know!! LMC is a good place for most parts, they have the floor mat but it's expensive and not the same as stock.
could be the transmissions, the thingys the wiper arms attach to. spray some lube behind them, sometimes it works! Or the grease in the armature housing has turned to concrete, time for a new motor
Went on the ride on NY route 38 yesterday. Lots of military vehicles, motorcycles. The ride was around 90 miles, got a few photos for everyone. Glad to see them rename the highway " the vietnam memorial highway of valor". Thanks to everyone that attended!!!
