That is correct, it's not threaded. I have not plugged it, however I did replace one once. It's pretty straight forward. However, if you were to plug it, I would think that something like JB Weld - maybe? -graham

Thanks Steve. I think I am going to take the trans out of the parts truck and rebuild it. Then do the R&R on my driver. I am going to try it this saturday, but I am not sure. I will let you know though, thanks for the offer.

And the wiring in the back for taillights, etc is all GM color-coded - just like the civvys. I took a 4 plug trailer connector and spliced into where the mil trailer plug - so now I have both, working styles. -graham

You will need to bring two, as the starter needs 24v. You could attempt to create a shorter circuit by using the 24v slave (meaning that a 24v vehicle would have to jump you) - but I would not advise it. Also, if the truck got turned off while away from the base - then you will be SOL. Best...
