Whats up with that god-awful music? Watching that guy drive it wants me to drive my m109 right now ... too bad it's about 1,000 miles away at magnus's house :(
Re: RE: Looking for Exide 6TL
It's for the M1009 I am selling. While it will nice to get to what came with the truck, I need to get it running and cleaned now so i can sell it. I think I just locate a similar sized battery with a crap-load of CCAs

Hiya,
Looking for a set of Exide's 6TL or equivalent here in Atlanta area. Does anyone have a good source of these? If not, what about a battery that is somewhat similiar in size, to fit in the CUCV battery trays? Thanks!

RE: Is the glow plug temp switch the same from cucv to humve
I got one from FLMV; it had a different 'newer' connector on it with a instruction sheet on how to change it (wires match up, etc).
I don't know if went to the Humvees 6.2s, but the connector on it was a newer GM style.

Well, this M1009 I am selling - so I may want to keep it original as possible. Now, my current M1009 I may do that in the future.
Will a trans oil cooler do the trick?
While I haven't tried the dealer, I have been told by several people that the dealer doesn't carry them anymore. I also been told that the CIVVY ones are different .... was I told wrong on both items?
Thanks for the info ccatlett1984!

Just an update - I located the line from Brian@BRTruckParts ... hopefully that will be it for the hard-to-find parts .... heh, we'll see

Folks,
I posted on Mil-Veh and checked with the normal vendors, so far no luck and would thought to post here for one last ditch effort .... I need the engine oil cooler lines for a CUCV (86 M1009). Anyone got an extra set? If so, and you want to part with them - PM me. Cash in hand.
Thanks...
Re: RE: Towing a M1009 behind another M1009
Yeah, the truck is in good shape and has lots of additional items that my current CUCV doesn't have nor come with. I don't know at this point if it will run - it does need a new oil cooler but other than that, it may just fire right up?!

So, as some of you know, I picked up another M1009 out of Florida. Builder77 had a towbar that needed to be picked up down there as well, so it was perfect timing. Builder77 also sent down spacers to be used (which I forgot to use for the first leg of the trip - led to an nerve-wrecking...
To chime in
I got 32x10.5x15 SuperSwampers TSL's tires and USWheel 15x8 wheels from 4WheelParts in Atlanta. They fit well with the stock suspension and were a great price. Plus they look killer!
