Yes top has to be removed. And when you do mine as well replace all the top seals when it's off. There is actually two seals against the cab, one on the top and one on the body.
Cap? If you are talking about top to body of cab then it's the header seal needs replacing. And for lower dash, on mine it was the fresh air vents on the lower a-pillars need seals. Can get them from lmc or classic truck parts. Replacing the top seals are a chore did mine back in the summer...
Just replaced right front knuckle boot, right side center axle inner/ outer seals. Fixed my oil pressure issue, fdc bypass, and tomorrow installing pass bench seat and seat belt kit from a m35a3
If the trans is shot will do the same thing. Easiest to check vent first but i still doing it the trans needs to be overhauled. My brothers m1009 was doing the same thing. Not a clogged vent, after I tore it down front pump was bad as well as too much end play in the torque converter
recently did the fdc bypass, doing so noticed fuel was leaking from the housing itslef of fdc and gasket for fdc to the pump. have noticed now extended start on my truck, do i need to replace the fdc since the housing is leaking and could this be causing the start issue
