You shouldn't lose power without the mufflers. Stock mufflers weigh like 25lbs each, and are very restrictive. A dual 2.5" system or a single 2.5" to 3 inch exhaust would be good. Mufflers don't really play a big role in backpressure/scavenging either way. A 3" exhaust might be a little...

Do diesels even need to get emission checked out there? I guess we get off real easy in Wisconsin. You only need emissions checked if you're in the 7 county "Milwaukee Area." And even then, only if your vehicle is OBD-II (1996+) for gassers or 2006+ for diesels. And that "emissions test"...

Honestly, I would keep it bypassed to the 12v system. Much less chance for problems. If one glow plug burns out, the stock setup will increase the voltage to the rest of the glow plugs. Then steps it up again when the next plug burns out and so on and so on. For example-- All 8 plugs get 10-12...

I have Kirkland Group 65 batteries in my 1009 (900 CCA w/ 150 reserve capacity, plus a good warranty and good customer service; Costco stands behind their stuff). I had to make different battery hold-downs and change the terminal connectors. But the batteries were around $80 each, the terminals...

You can make it work. The previous owner of my 1009 put the newer style of wiper motor on, intermittent wipers, and the newer type of windshield washer pump.

Fixed. I was happy it was a cheap easy fix! :jumpin: The valve core was leaking. And that just so happened to be the last thing I checked on the tire.
