The Driverside exhaust manifold will connect to your crossover pipe which connects to the passengerside manifold. Your exhaust after the turbo will have to be redone.
The driver side manifold stays, passenger side is replaced along with the whole exhaust system from the turbo back. You can try to tap into the dual exhaust but you will have to fab a Y and engineer the connections.
If there is a bad connection, you can remove them and run without them just the same. Most likely cause of weak wipers is there is another item tapping into the power wire of the wipers and I think it is a heater for the fuel filter base.
Does anyone know how the lug on back of the Alt #1 determines the rpm? I heard it is where the STE/ICE picks up the rpm and was wondering is there a way to rig a tack with it?
If you use the bo wires to wire your new lights check the amp ratings because the bo lights are LED and should not require much amps so the wiring might not be designed for high amps.
The plastic plug has two 12v source wires, the one connected to the output lug is the exciter wire that excites the coils so the alt can create electricity and the other is sourced through the gen 1 light and the alternater provides a ground if there is a problem. if the wire connected to the...
If I understand you correctly the wire would be the exciter wire which supplies the alt with 12v before the alt can create electricity. Without this wire your batts would not be charging properly.
Definitely agree with not buying one from GL and expect to drive it. I've had good luck with my two purchases but they were pre-EUC and I went and inspected them first.
RE: Power Service Additives
I use cheap 2-cycle oil, about 8oz per 15 gal. It cost just al little over $1 per fill-up(I fill-up at 1/4 tank). I do use diesel kleen about twice a year.
The M1028 does have an overload spring that the M1008 does not have. The mileage are similar, I'm getting 15 with my M1028 in city driving but I have a gearvender on mine. Hopefully soon a turbo. :D
You're correct in that 24vx100amps is equivalent to 12vx200amps but remember the starter runs a lot more amps when cranking so it may exceed the cranking amps available from one battery and that is why you may need two batts connected in parallel. The starter will draw a certain amount of amps...
If you run them in series it will be 24v. You will need two batteries to get the starter to turn enough rpm's. If you run two systems each with its own batt and alt then you should run a solenoid to connect the two batts when you start and disconnect them on normal operations.
The black canister looks like it is connected to the heater hose. I have a black canister connected similarly and has a 110v plug to plug into a wall outlet so I assume it is a heater.
