First thing is first get a good volt, ohm meter. You can not check the charging system with a test light. It will tell you nothing of any importance.
The two leads coming from the front of the engine, I assume, would be the stator leads. If the engine is running, you should see an AC voltage...
The output boxes (side boxes) use the same parts EXCEPT for the main breaker. The main breaker is only 1/2 the size of the 003a box. Also, the CT/CVT assembly is the same, but it has twice as many wraps of wire as the box on the 003a, so you're current readings will no be correct, unless you...
Well, I guess the insulation on deuces it only warranted for 40 years....From your signature line, you are just out of the warranty period, too bad
Please Clarify, your's is what?
Your switch is on?
You have power to the solenoid all the time?
If you do not have 24 volts to ALL of the circuit breakers on the firewall all of the time, then someone, somewhere has done some wiring modifications to your truck somewhere along the way.
Wire...
Correct, unless you have a bad solenoid. Which if I read your previous posts correctly, you do. You should have continuity between the two terminals of the solenoid.
If you have 24 volts at the solenoid on wire #25 then you are getting 24 volts through the circuit breaker, that is a fact, no...
That's a very good explaination of the TM structure. You made it very easy to understand. I may have to use that in the generator sticky I'm working on.
I don't think you guys are talking about the same part.
Tinwoodsman said the solenoid he was talking about was "The two terminal solenoid I found was on the engine side of the firewall just below the main harness feed from the cabin". Which I don't think is a solenoid at all but the circuit...
My personal favorite is, "Hey, I just recovered my truck and drove it 30,000 miles home. How do I check the brake fluid?" but that one has been beaten to death
turbo,
If you had read this thread you would have seen the 5th post in it and the link to the following...Brake fluid -how to tell which kind you have DOT 3 or DOT 5
NJ,
Wetstacking can occur with ANY diesel engine. However, you are correct that it is less likely with the air cooled engines. It's just the nature of the beast, an air cooled engine naturally runs a little hotter that a liquid cooled one. I have never experienced wetstacking on an 002 or...
Ike pretty much summed it up. I will just clarify what he and others have said. Set the throttle at 1800 RPM's (60 Hz) or maybe just about 2 to 3 Hz more. That way if you go from no load to full load when a large appliance turns on, your frequency will not dip below 60. Even if it does, it...
Depends on when you are planning to go, you could meet up with the Ohio detachment in Columbus for the last leg of your trip. Unfortunately I will not be attending this year. Work obligations are getting in the way or my fun!
Funny story...
I was actually on the phone with Kip when they decided to work on your window. Kip says to me, "hey, I gotta go we have a window emergency". My first thought, and I said to him, "Tell Gimp to stop licking all the windows and get back to enjoying the show". Then he proceded to...
