mactiredearg,
If you need to get a thread title edited, just PM one of the mods and we can take care of that for you. I don't remember ever being able to edit a title with standard user privilages.
They may not be shorted together. The coils are going to be pretty low resistance, and if you forgot to disconnect the plug going to the AC output box the coils would have been connected together via the L0 connection. You would need a good low resistance meter and the specs/test procedure...
Welcome aboard, you'll probably be going right by my place on the way to Columbus, or very near to it. If you have any issues or need assistance let me know. Good luck
That first sentence should actually pertain to the NAPA FUEL filters. They are the ones that are too short. There is nothing wrong with the NAPA oil filter other than the o-ring gasket that comes with it it not the right size. As far as oil goes, use any oil you want to as long as it is...
If it's working, I wouldn't mess with it. Could have been the varnish you removed allowed it to make a good connection again and start working. The manufacturer part number for it should be in the -24P TM. And a quick google search should bring up an electronics supplier to be able to...
I know Kipman has a nice running 701, I don't know if he was planning on selling it or not. And if he was I have no idea of a price. I would suggest you send him a PM and ask. Also, docfarmall used to have some for sale, but I have no idea if he still does or not
I wasn't too worried about then either, I've met both at the GA rally and they are good people. I just wanted to make sure everybody was aware that the thread was getting close to unwanted territory.
On your connector at the solenoid coming from the control cubicle, from the TM it looks like pin/socket "B" should be the 24 volts, and pin/socket "A" should be the ground. But, after pin/socket "A" there is a diode before it goes to ground. Diode CR3. it's possible that diode is open.
I can find you a part number and source for the connector if you want. But I can fully understand wanting the entire assembly, let me know
Unfortunatly no, I am not familiar with the welders, but we can always learn new things.
That is very true, but this thread isn't a "what is needed" thread like the rule you mentioned. Derrickl112 came right out and asked if any of the goodies were for sale. So far all is good, but when prices start to get thrown around that it's gonna have to be cut back. Just giving a heads up...
Right in the resources section...
TM 5-6115-584-12, section 4-7 Lubrication, Page 4-5 step #12
"Pour 4 quarts of engine oil (See lubrication order for proper grade of oil) into oil fill tube ((9) figure 1-1)"
TM 5-6115-584-12, Section 4-7 Lubrication, Page 4-4 Very first paragraph...
IIRC there is a tech bulletin or something out there that was posted on SS at one time with an interchange list. Basically, electrically, everything is the same with the exception of the main breaker, generator head and engine wire harness (too short due to the length of the engine).
