    glow plugs

Your not bugging anyone. The Glow plugs run on 12V from the factory on the CUCV. Check my user photo album, I have a picture of the 60Gs box. Google it, I got mine for $7.25/pc a few weeks ago. iirc. You can always test yours per the TM to confirm No Good. I believe 1-3 ohms is what good plugs...

    glow plugs

Based on what I have read here, for CUCV application: AC Delco 60Gs are the best choice regardless of price.

    new to the cucv's

Welcome to the Forum from Alabama! In addition to what K9 mentioned I would add the following. Be sure to check out the below website for the TMs (Tech. Manuals). These are very good service manuals that will assist in just about any situation. In all honesty, I have enjoyed reading them in...

    glow plugs

The resistor bypass is a good thing. Below are my 7 bad GPs that happend before I swapped mine over to the pure 12V feed.

    Wheel Backspace Adapter Q's. M1008

If you decide against spacers, my 16.5" factory wheels have worked well on the Hummer Radials. They were $50 for the set. More details in the link in my signature.

Gen 2 light going on/off among other things..

The GPs are 12V. The slave connection on the passenger side of the grill is used for jump starting, and using 24V tools that plug into it.

    Howdy from Alabama

Welcome! Im in NE Alabama from time to time.

Gen 2 light going on/off among other things..

That is a 24V wire that goes to a resitor behind that plate. It steps 24V down to 12V for the Glow Plug relay. This alows single hookup slave jump starting.

    6.2 crank rotation

Exactly, I have seen twin marine engines where they turned opposite one another. Back to the OP. Out of curiosity, why do you ask? Which way does yours spin?

m1008 lacking power at full throttle

How do you know it's losing prime..fuel pressure gauge? Cheap electric pusher fuel pumps are popular during startup for these trucks, of course that just mask the symptom of the rootcause. Sometimes what seems like lost prime could be bad Glow Plugs. I'll admit, I thought the same about my...

    CUCV black smoke,power loss?

I think after a couple of tanks with no wmo all will be normal.

    CUCV black smoke,power loss?

That or reduce to 40% wmo. My experiance has been anything over %50 causes problems.

    CUCV black smoke,power loss?

What is your best guess at what % wmo is currently in the tank? It takes a couple of tanks to flush it all out. I would keep running straight Diesel, run it almost all the way out fuel then refill with Diesel only. Injector cleaner may not be a bad idea. Check the airfilter as well.

Air compressor on a 6.2l diesel?

Another route is DC. This would probably be easier, and preserve the horses you have. http://www.oasismfg.com/

    tires/wheels

For the price the Hummer radials are hard to beat. I gave $75/pc for like new tires, $50/set of 4 GM factory 16.5 wheels and have been very pleased with the setup.
