Well I decided to start another thread since this is obviously past inj pump problems. I will try to document as much as possible for future newbs to the motor swap game. As you may have read in my last thread, I basically got screwed by a dishonest seller. After post mortem on the motor I have...
Look at my thread. Many pics. I know the assembly intimately now...

I am pretty sure I got a motor lined up.a member stepped up with a good deal on an LDT. Hopefully getting it Sat.
Now I need a clufch. Best source ?
Anybody know the part number of the clutch kit if I went to a truck parts supply ?
Also I have to swap my Oil pan and pickup tube . How do I...
Depends... if you geta rotted frame dodge donor it can be cheaper. A decent standalone contoller is 600+ dollars alone not to mention all the future repairs a GM 6.xxx will need plus it is still a dog even with the turbo, just less of one. A 6bt still out pull, out last and get better mpg so...
No I will keep it, I mean by srcap that I am not going to fix this motor. There is just too much unaccounted for shratnel. The turbo could be damaged as well so a used complete motor at this point seems to be the way to go.
Also if you have an M1008 there is an extra frame support bracket by the drivers side rear spring hanger. The drivers side 6.5 manifold will not fit because of it. I used the 6.2 one. It worked fine with a little massage with the rose bud to the crossover.
Some things to help as I did this awhile ago.
Use short injs. Then you dont need any ex manifold gaskets. They are a BAD idea. They will blow out and you saw how much fun getting that manifold off is. You do NOT need to jack up the motor to do the right side manifold. Take the new ex manifold...
You know that pic of the ridge shows it better than I could see working on it. I wonder if that is smashed up shratnel stuck to the top of the liner ???
So now the question is...used Multifuel or just do a 5.9 Cummins ? I wonder how guys made n air compressor work with the Cummins. Does anyone know if there is an adapter to bolt the Cummins to the Deuce tranny ?
More pics...
Also in the previous pics I forgot to note...A hornet was actually stupid enough to try and sting me while I had the rosebud in my hand...bad idea!! I roasted his ass.
well I decided to spend Memorial Day trying to revive a Steel Soldier.
The motor looks pretty bad. At this point I don't think it's worth saving. I have no issue dropping in one liner ans piston. I have worked for cheap ass dirt merchants most of my life as a mechanic and many times had a MAck...
I cant see timing causing a runaway. If it's not sucking it's own oil (not likely without a turbo) look closely at the operation of the metering sleeve. Ask me how I know...it cost me a piston.
Someone here had suggested the flame heater also.
