I also have a freshly rebuild (mid 1990's vintage) still in the crate 4a032 engine I can bring along if anybody wants it.
I'm also going to try to get them tested out before the rally to bring along, but I have complete AC output boxes (the one on the side of the generators), one each for the...
the fuel pumps just have a screen on them that is removable and very easily cleaned. If you absolutely need to replace them, I would try a Facet pump dealer for parts.
Check all of the connections on the VR and the small transformers on the back of the control panel. Do the transformer connections very carefully, as you can twist them off very easily. if the problem still occurs, all you need to do is manually flash the field when it's running. No need to...
Serious as a heart attack!!!!
While Durhamtown is really nice to us, we end up getting camped out in the horse pasture. Phil's pictures don't really show the whole story. They ate poor Joes (I think thats who it was anyway) lunch last year right out of his goat.
Nice looking set you ended up with. I hope she runs good for you and makes power. There is a thread out there that someone found the OEM filters pretty cheap ( I don't remember what it is right off hand, but one supplier is race-mart.com ). Also, I have the spin-on oil filter conversion...
Well,
The flywheel is keyed so it's not going to be off. I doubt the cam was installed out of time either. You need to run through the TM and verify what size of timing button it takes (the button is sized to the engine block as you probably already know).
After that, if you can, pull the...
I would say that the IP is off by one tooth on the cam gear from the sound of it. Get #1 cylinder back up to TDC and the PC mark lined up and see if you can get an 1/8" piece of wire through the timing hole in the IP.
When the PC mark is lined up correctly and the IP has the 1/8" wire in the...
Yeah,
I'll have the one Command Post Tent I'll be bringing and when the other one makes it there with Phil on Wednesday afternoon, we can make the super-mega command post and have plenty of room. You're more than welcome to share
I hope you can make it this year. I know how much if sucks to be strapped for cash. If I didn't find enough used oil, I wouldn't be able to make it either. (luckily I did)
Walter,
I've already talked to Gimpy about your MKT. We're gonna work something out to try to get all of the trailers down there. I have my generator trailer and gimpy has two trailers going down (one for Kenny and I'm not sure who gets the other one), plus your MKT. We'll do our best to...
I know there are 4 crates, but for the weight, you'll have to ask Lane about that. I haven't even laid eyes on them yet...LOL
Closer would be helpful...I could get the gimpster to grab them on one of his many trips to MI delivering stuff for people :beer:
I'm glad you finally got them out to play around with. It's a shame you didn't get to use them at your rally/show the other month like you wanted to. I wouuld have loved to know that they were put to a good use.
Phase one is complete!!!!!!!!!!
A huge thank you to TheOxman for picking it up for me. I just got a call this morning and he told me that it is safe and sound.
I was already contacted by Phil2968 about transfering it and getting it to the GA rally. It looks like it's going to make it to...
I'm going to have to agree with the other folks, check the fuel solenoid and fuel shut-off linkage and maybe even the shut-off rod in the IP if nothing external pops out at you. Even if the master switch was bad, the DC circuit breaker should have killed all the DC and stopped the engine dead...
