I'm glad you got the trucks figured out, but I was gonna contact you before you left and see if you could bring my floodlights from Lane back through with you :-D
WOW, sorry to hear about the misfortune with the inspector. While some of the comments are correct that the inspectors a lot of times don't know their a$$ from a hole in the ground, they are the final word and you have to do what they say, no matter how dumb it is.
I was unaware of that change...
Unless Clinto doesn't want this thread out there for some reason. It's close enough to the rally for people to start listing what they plan to bring to the rally to sell or trade. And what people might be looking to buy. I'll start
I am going to bring along a few of the MEP-002/003a oil...
I can't help out much with at all with the battery question, don't even know what size of battery they take.
As to Idling the generator, DON'T! Every generator on the market, whether civilian or military or even commercial (with the exception of the newer "Inverter Type" generators) are...
Well, I decided that I am not going to keep most of the parts from my stripped out ENG-3 Lube trailer after all. I'll snap some pics of the tank/pumps and the reels that were on it, and get them posted in the classifieds real soon. If anybody going to the GA rally wants them I can bring them...
Chris,
The glow plugs are pretty self explanatory, they are mounted in the head of the engine to help to heat up the cylinders. The heating elements are located in the intake manifold pipe to heat up the incoming air a bit. Since diesel engines do not use a spark to ignite the fuel but rather...
Send Gimpyrobb a PM, He is there quite a bit and I'm sure he knows the lot manager. He may be able to check it out for you and advise on the situation. Possibly even get it off of the lot for you when the time comes.
I can help out with the hard top if you can get a tent to the rally for me from a member outside of Eglin AFB.
Even if the tent is not do-able, I can still help out with the top.
If Gimpy doesn't work out send me a PM
Glad to hear it's running again, and without too much troubles getting it that way again.
I hope all goes well with the kidney stones....gotta get rid of them before the GA rally
I took some measurements today on one of my spare MEP-003a engines
Stud Quantity...12
Stud Size 3/8"-16
Center to Center distance of the studs...15"
Inside Diameter of the bell housing face...14 1/4"
Outside Diameter of the bell housing face...16"
Flywheel Diameter Approximately...12 1/2" +/-...
I haven't measured the engine yet, I'll do it this week while I'm off work, but knowing the MEP-002 and MEP-003 flywheel is 13 inches in diameter, I am assuming that they are SAE #4 bell housings.
I just put the corn head grease in my steering box, I put the same amount in as the LO calls for. What I did was to drain the oil of course, and then I pulled the fill plug to vent it, next I installed a grease fitting in the drain hole and filled it from the bottom and reinstalled the fill...
Yanmar is actually a Japanese manufacturer, and they make pretty high quality engines. They have made marine diesels and construction equipment for years and years. Recently that made all the engines for the smaller John Deere compact tractors and currently that make a Cub Cadet tractor/engine...
You sure we're talking about the same gimpyrobb here???? The one I know is a total jerk .
No seriously, Gimpy is one of those guys who would give you the shirt off of his own back if you needed it.
Welcome aboard.
While the lot switching stories we hear about do happen, I think that they don't happen as mich as you would think...kinda like the news, the sensational stories get all the press. But, keep in mind that if you do have someone pick it up for you and it has been switched, once...
I didn't realize JW trailered his truck down there. Gimpy and I talked about it a little bit the other day. I'm sure all of your trailers will make it to the rally...one way or another.
If the tent is not in the crate there will be 3 bags each weighing about 100 pounds. There is also a small hard case containing a ratty old light set with the tent. There are some pics of it in this thread...Calling ALL Florida members...HELP!!!
Whether you go to FL or not, I wish you well...
