KsM715 has it right now....he just picked it up today for me. His profile says St. George, KS, but no exact addy.
I'm not opposed to going to get it myself, but a 28 hour round trip even in a civi vehicle is not my idea of fun!!!
Hey all,
First off let me start out by sending out a huge thank you to KsM715!!! For a fellow I've never met before, he was a huge help in doing the loadout of the small diesel engine I bought at Ft. Riley. KsM715 is a class act all the way!!!
Now that the engine is off base, I need to get...
I've read a lot of threads about this over the past few months, and I'm glad Bjorn finally posted the information I was looking for. This has been brought up many many times in the past, maybe not in such a direct question, but the "depth"/level of filtration has been covered a lot.
I agree...
I'm no expert on the chemical make up of diesel fuel and crude oil, but these are multifuel engines. I've heard the ULS diesel (Ultra Low Sulfer) you get from the pumps doesn't have the lubricating properties the the old diesel did.
That being said, the crude oil shouldn't hurt a thing in the...
Sad but true, he probably would be...but then again, people that stupid don't think that far ahead!
Don't think the south has a monopoly in those kind of idiots...I've never seen so many morons on the road until I moved to Ohio....I thought at first, all the cars sold out here must have the...
I agree with WM, you can't fix stupid!!!
But the way some people are today, he may have been looking for a payday...in the eyes of the law, no matter how stupid he is, when you hit someone in the a$$ end, you didn't have control of your vehicle therefore it's your fault.
Keep that in mind...
Seriously guys, read the previous posts...loctite and new "deformed" locking nuts should be all you need. If you want to make sure the you never have another problem, get new bolts as well.
Just make absolutely sure you clean the bolts and nuts of grease and oils before applying the loctite...
Great score, not only was the generator/welder in the truck for you, but the generator works!!! Now you need to weld something :twisted::twisted::twisted:
WillWagner,
I've also had the same thing for years and years. For your own personal use, they do work wonderfully. But the newer hydraulic ones make some nice tight and better looking crimps (not to say that they are any better electrically though), and when I'm doing 20 or 30 crimps on 4/0...
If you weren't so darned far away, I have some nice hydraulic ones I could lend to you. Problem is, that they are too darned heavy to want to pay to ship them.
Those two from china freight would work, either one would do a good job. What I like to do especially for industrial stuff is to...
Chris,
I'm pretty new to the hobby, but I think this is by far the best website I've found yet, MV or not. This site is at the top of the heap!!!
I'm not even going to mention any of the thoughts or suggestions I have for the site, because they are only minor aesthetic improvements I would...
WOW....I would like to see pictures of the rest of your "collection"
Line em up for us and snap some pics...we love pics...we need pics...we want pics.:twisted::twisted::twisted:
Oh, did I mention you need to post some pics?? :-P
That's a wise choice. Personally, as an electrician, for my own house I NEVER use UF cable. There is absolutely nothing wrong with UF cable, but I've seen too many wires rub through as the earth shifts and such (freezing and thawing), plus if you ever want to upgrade, it doesn't cost but a few...
Welcome aboard as well,
I don't mean to sound ignorant, but you will most definitely get a few responses telling you to search for your answers as most have been covered extensively many times before. And some of the will not be as pleasant as mine is.
Now, to help with some of the questions...
yeah it's giving me a problem too...it's taking me to a generic "recent threads" page here on the new site.
But that's not what my problem is/was. Even when I get to the TM section, I don't have access to log into the old site to upload anything.
