    Advice rebuilding Allison 1545 Tranny?

One nice thing you can use is TH400 plates in the Allison Forward and Direct clutches. This way you can benefit from all the racing clutch plates out there including the heavy duty "Kolene" steels. The early trick for racing TH400's was to use the Allison AT540 clutches since they where very...

    What is it?

Are you referring to the exhaust suction pipe ? If so that is used to "pull" out the heavy dirt particles from the filter housing. When the truck is running, the exhaust creates a vacuum due to the "venturi" effect. It is strong enough to pull heavy dirt particles from the air filter housing...

    M135 M211 2 speed transfer case mod

I always felt the CAT 3208 and 3408 where the best series engines they ever produced. To bad they couldn't meet the emission standards.

    HF54 with ram assist

In the Marine Corp, a little duct tape and bailing wire is all you need for 99% of all repairs !

    Where's AHAB ?

I go in for a CT scan this Monday. We'll know more then. The biggest issued right now is the fever sweats and nausea ! I'm down to my "skivvy shorts" and sweating like a stuck pig and feeling like I'm going to hurl chunks ! This latest anti-biotic is STRONG ! Just a shout out to all you guys...

    Where's AHAB ?

The wife hasn't allowed me to eat that stuff for years now. I actually lost 20 pounds on a KETO diet recently. Go figure, here I am trying to get healthy and I get a Kidney infection ! Maybe it's a secret plot of McDonalds. If you stop eating their burgers you will get sick ! Must be something...

    Where's AHAB ?

Well I might have to go "AWOL" again. I saw the Doctor today and the infection is back with a vengeance ! There is only one anti-biotic that will work now. If it fails I need to go into the hospital. Don't like hospitals very much, but as I've gotten older it seems I'm making more and more...

    M109A3 Idling bad

Well James, at least we can agree on using "Opti-Lube" in our diesel engines. I've been using it for years now and my stuff works great even sitting for long periods of time.

    M109A3 Idling bad

In the Marines we could run a 50/50 mix of new oil and gasoline (not diesel) which worked fine. Some of our "exercises" involved "improvising" to keep the unit running.

    Where's AHAB ?

Than as a Marine you must know how many holes the "Gorilla" cookie has ! 64. I actually like my "K" rations and then the "C" rations. The new MRI's had just come out when I left but they where excellent ! Listening to all the stories of reading great books just makes me sad for this new...

    Special M35 steering gear project

This site must make a pretty sum of money considering all the adds from venders and from dues from the community itself. Don't get me wrong. There is nothing wrong in making money. That is the capitalist system at it's core. It's giving the site that has treated people unfairly due to favoritism...

    Where's AHAB ?

If only they would let our scientists have free rein again like that ! Think what they could come up with !

    Where's AHAB ?

I wonder if that is possible ? If so I can have it "reprinted" on high quality paper and bound. It would need to be dismantled though to copy it correctly. I could have it rebound and then give them another copy for their library.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

You will find all kinds of crazy guys out there when you drive your deuce. I think some did too much "special" medications when they where in school ! Then there are the ones who watched some Sci-Fi TV show which did something with a deuce so they know they can actually go under water like a...

Fuel filters or lack thereof and stalling.

For those who want to do this little experiment themselves, here is the valve we're talking about. It is located between the filter canisters on the top of the filter assembly. You will either have a valve or a ball. Remove it and the spring. Reinstall the plug and try and start your truck.

Fuel filters or lack thereof and stalling.

Now there must be ground rules for this bet. Since we where originally talking about this "none" running truck, your truck must be none running for a week. Also there must not be any "residual" pressure in the "Hydraulic Head". My truck will start on the first turn of the switch. That is just...

Fuel filters or lack thereof and stalling.

I would need someone I trusted there to verify it. Lets face it, your not the most "impartial" individual when it comes to anything I say. I believe you would do almost anything to try and prove me wrong especially since it was I who solved that HH problem after you argued with me for days...
