The M1078 would make a neat mini tractor. You don't really need the 1088 if you are pulling a small trailer. The bed weights like 3000lbs and you would be taking that off. Just have to upgrade the rear springs and mount a 5th wheel.
Most of the other military alternators are a bit longer than the Lmtv ones since they fit in front of the turbo. Other military trucks with the cat engines have the alternator up a bit higher but the cab comes down so there's no room to move it up on the Lmtv.
You can charge the air system from the front emergency gladhand but you will release the spring brakes at the same time. Best to get it started and build air.
The diaphragm in the separator hand pumps go bad. Once you swap that out you can crack the 2 lines at the front of the fuel pump and prime away. Once you see fuel dripping close them and prime more then crank. Repeat till it starts.
There are heads that replace the existing heater box with an AC evaporator in it. I have the main comp mount brackets. There is a sub bracket that braces the main bracket. What did the sell you for the pulley and drive? Can you post a pic.
If you search the Lmtv forum section there are some documented installs. I didn't know red dot made a kit what's the model number in the box? Should be RD something.

I am not an expert on this but here goes. 120/208 3 phase has 2 120v legs and one 208 (the bastard) leg. The 2 120 volt legs can be used for single phase power. When 3 phase gens have convenience outlets they are usually powered via those legs. Only drawing off 2 of the 3 legs, you would only...
Its not good to have an unbalanced load like that. If you were using 3 phase power and tapped off for some single phase use thats fine. Just using the 2 legs only is not advisable. TQ gens have 10 wire head you cant convert them to single phase. MEP-803a 10kw gen is a great unit and will provide...
Behind the panel. That's the control box. Face folds down there are breakers in the engine compartment back of the box housing though. The digital display has connectors in the back that can slip out. There is a voltage adjust knob also on the control panel but it shouldn't allow for voltage...
Applied didn't have the gen manual. If your rpms are low then you can get low voltage. Could be a regulation issue also. I have found multiple poor crimp connections in the control box of these gens.
That distribution box is for 3 phase and you will probably be using single phase. Make a simple break out box on a 4 wire cable so you can have 120/240 single phase with a ground.
Great for low speed hauling heavy trailers around a farm or on dry dirt roads. On road hauling heavy loads you will go thru tires fast. M1088A1 you could probably take the wheels off your loaded trailer and still pull it.
