In the old days, those of us that owned Heaps, (jeeps) would put thinner axle seals in back to back to keep the water out and the gear oil in. Renting a drum puller for the tapered axle was a pain in the .
It depends on how much its leaking. If its not dripping out, but just a little seep, Id drive it back with the fording plus out. It should be out anyways. Id also make sure the blow by tube is not plugged. If there is excess crankcase pressure, it won't help.
that would depend on a lot of things. I have had batteries submerged for a half hour and still be able to charge up. overnight, not so much. I used to work at a marina...lots of sinking boats.
run a line (1inch id ?) from the compressor intake to the hose barb fitting on the air filter housing. its near the fire wall, so its hard to see. Use a heavy wall product to prevent it from collapsing. Put the plug in the bell housing. It should be in a "false hole right next to it....just move...
@ Cattlerepairman.......funny you mentioned that....I ordered one earlier today from Surplus Center along with some other hydraulic parts I need. Limit switch is 30$, momentary button switch is 5$ and its brass.
thats what Im looking for. Thank you. Unfortunately it looks like I need to pull the transmission top cover off to do it. I would incorporate that mod during a clutch replacement. I think a decent temporary solution would be a limit switch since the rod is fully extended in reverse.
I have the work light set up. I need it independent and only operated in reverse because Im old and will forget to shut them off. At night time, this could cause confusion from someone behind me thinking it is headlights.
I bumped this thread because I get a "404" message, and want to research on how to add a reverse switch on my M35A2C transmission. So far I found a thread here that the reverse/first rod on the top/back of the transmission moves, which some have mounted a proximity switch to operate.
@ Bulldogger. Don't get discouraged as most people don't want to change a boot unless they have one that is ripped. I just changed my passenger zippered, ripped boot to a silicone one piece last week. The other one is still good. BTW, are they waterproof? I drive through a lot of deep puddles...
my manual TM9-2320-361-24P ...page #0080 00 shows master cylinder part# 12368254. It does not state whether its a dual circuit one. I'll look in the other books as this one does not look like mine. One cap can fill both split reservoirs like on my cars. they just have a internal lower baffle...
Dot 5 is purple. I got my Wheel cylinder kits from Big Mikes along with a set of shoes, seals, and boots. Boyce has them too. I pulled the front wheels and drums off, and everything was new inside, so I just changed the boot. on the inside boot clamp I cut it down about a 1/2 inch and slide a...
I tried to post a study on ZDDP...I failed. the condensed version is 1200ppm-1800 is good, over 1800 is not. most oils have around 800-900 because the goober mint says it pollutes. Diesels and race cars need more, especially during break-in. We ran Delo in our diesel and natural gas engines.
there are 5 diesel 15/40wt oils that I found with 1200ppm ZDDP. Redline syn.has the best numbers, but is costly. Delo 400, Mobil Delvac, New Rotella, and .....Farm Rated 15/40 diesel oil.
I used a U bolt and pod on the steering column. My gauge can rotate inside the pod as to stay level when I adjust it to offset on the right. I have a audible alarm option, and a programmable dimmer. I got mine from "the sensor connection". priority mail is standard, and made in the USA. everyone...
I just changed my front wheels today and the passenger boot. I use a 1/2 drive Impact with a 1/2 to 3/4 adaptor on my 1 1/2 inch socket. The key is that my small 20 gallon compressor is a 175psi one. You can get them in the old 120psi, 150, and 175 psi. I paid under 200$ at Home Depot. I had the...
wiper arms/blade conversion today. im going to put a wiper fluid pump and spray nozzles in soon. it will pull little amps, so I'll just tap off one 12v battery.
