    Seperating cab from body, M1010

Has anyone here seperated the ambulance body from the cab on an M1010? I would like to do as little damage as possible. Other than the obvious of unbolting the body from the frame (done that) it looks like you would just drill out all the rivets that hold the metal retainer for the rubber...

    M1009 recovery

Got the $611.00 GSA M1009 today. After wrestling the M1010 on yesterday, it was a pleasant surprise to have the Forest Ranger at this site to let me blow up the tires and push the truck on the trailer with his forklift, see pics. After getting this unit home and looking it over, other than the...

    M1010 Recovery

Picked this M1010 (or what's left of it) up at GSA, $202. WAY better shape than I expected. Loading on trailer only took about 2 1/2 hours, 2 guys, no pulled muscles, no bleeding, no broken tools. The pipe and plywood for sliding helped big time. Thought I'd share the recovery. GSA is a bit...

In reading the LO 9-2320-289-12 Lubrication order, it seems like you're to put the additive in the front diff. if its a M1031, am I reading this right? I just put it in the rear diff. of my M1028a1s (M1031s). thanks

    Frames

Would the M1008/M1028/M1031 frame be the same as that of a civilian K30? Have an 83 K30 dually with frame issues and it seems like a lot of beat up M1008s that get parted out for their axles still have good frames. thanks

    m1028a1 np205 extension housing cracked

Bad news: the extension housing on my np205 transfer case is cracked. The housing is about 6 inches long, cast aluminum . I could see this coming as the driveshaft was bent when I bought this from GL. Way to go guys with the forklift unloading! My local chevy dealer says the part is...

    6 digit odometer

OK, Why do some CUCVs have 6 digit odometers and some only 5? I've seen one M1009 and my own M1028A1 with 6 digit odometers, most seem to have the usual 5 digit (plus 10ths) odometer. Any reason? Replaced? thanks

    Fuel gauge won't work!

Have everything working on my M1028a1 except the volt meter and the fuel gauge. There is power to the cluster in the dash (when I pull out the gauge) and the gauge worked in my parts truck. there is also power back to the fuel tank sending unit. I have tried two different sending units, cleaned...

    Plow on a M1028a1? Other ?s

Finally got my 6700 mile M1028a1 (M1031) to run and she runs great! All it took was a fuel tank, drive shaft, all the fluids, new glow plug relay harness, reattaching wires to alternators, dipstick, 2 batteries, and some odds and ends!. However the "wait" light stays on always. Also, the truck...
