I just installed a new feature... that will automatically clean your PM Inbox of messages over 90 days old.
Only READ message
Only the INBOX
if you want to save messages that are over 90 days old, create a separate folder called 'Save' or something like that, and move the messages to it...
That is a 6.5 turbo. Being the center mount turbo engine, it will not fit the standard 6.5 or the 6.2. The head-intake interface angle is different.
the heads on the other hand, will interchange along with the intake/turbo assembly.
FYI, the AMG engine based on the 6.5 is the same engine...
I pulled one from an engine recently and tinkered with it. Its very obvious that its drawing a vacuum when you turn it over. Not sure if its adequate.... but its pulling for sure.
Keep in mind, while it should work as designed.... the original relay is not rated for the amperage on it. That is why its common for people to replace them with something heavier.
You also might try getting your hands on a 'gear reduction' starter. www.odiron.com is one source of such starter.
They would be the same....
I have a trans, and tcase input shaft to match it here... you would need to take the tcase apart to put the input shaft in it.
I think, you can clip the corner of the battery tray for the air filter, and keep the group 31 in it. The other option, would be to pipe the air filter to the other side maybe? Not use the Banks filter? Move the battery tray to the drivers side?
Alot of it depends on the year of the transmission too. A 91 is one of the best years to use from what I have learned.
I am VERY happy with the 700R4 in my 1009. I just need to do something better about converter lock up... and change to my 3.73 gears :-)
Got some new wheels for the 1009.... Figured I would share a pic. Old ones I had kept getting stuck on the truck, and I had to use a torch to get them off.... not good if you get a flat!
Here we go... a few of the goat...
Loaded up...
A weasel he had...
Couple other trucks off in the background
WENDYS!!! (Just for you Clint!!)
A few shots of my boys driving the goat!
Andy, it should all bolt right in. Your drive shaft should not be short... if it is, its only by maybe 3/8"
Take lots of pics, let us know how it comes out.
Ummm, actually the driveshafts need NOTHING. The transfer case pedastal takes care of the difference in tranny length.
I suggest you do a search, I have written up exactly what is needed about 3-4 times now (including my initial write up from mine).
That might do it!
Cheapie inline fuel filters arent really well suited for diesels. Keep in mind, the system flows alot more fuel than the engine uses, and returns it back to the tank.
