2 weeks ago, I observed a guy change the oil in his Robinson 44 helicopter with exactly the same oil. Wouldn't bother me a bit to run the same oil in my deuce, but, then again, it might be a matter of viscosity? Running it as fuel should not be a problem, depending on your settings.
Wow. Never meant to start such a ruckus. One of the reasons I posted this is that I live in West Texas where we have TREMENDOUS amounts of sunlight. Low humidity most of the year, etc etc, and I ran into this guy who is actually using solar to create hydrogen gas with solar power being the...
I've watched your video twice now, and I could swear that's somewhat of a white smoke on the first run; anyway, white smoke bad, black smoke not so bad. You might want to check the threads on the 'droop screw' on the injector pump, and either back in or back out, (I forget).
Taking a stab at it here, if this is in the realm of doing, replace the primary fuel filter (front passenger side forward), then turn on the accessory switch and wait about one minute, then fire it. Listen for the electric in tank feed pump to whine. If you don't hear a whine with the...
I desperately need some tires like that.....wow what a price! My ranch road that I try to get to about every other week is eating up the NDT's like a grinder. So I guess I would be times ten for some good radials.
I'm exactly where you are, with the same project going on with 2 deuces; unfortunately my radiators were beyond repair. The belts on my keeper truck look bad so I have to replace them. From my own personal experience, if the belts look worn in any way I would replace them and maybe keep the...
I have a deuce tow bar but it's not for sale. However, I always like to help out fellow members. What exactly do you need to do with it? PM me would be better 'cause I'm on and off the site lately.
Pulled my radiator this past weekend and the diagnosis came back from the radiator shop that the core is rotted beyond repair. The price to pull the tank off and "fabricate" a core was staggering. Anyone have suggestions as to where I can find a serviceable radiator?
While greasing up the fittings today, I noticed that on the forward rear axle, passenger side, I had a bunch of oil sling on the INSIDE of the inner rim. You can't see it from the outside of the truck. It was definitely kind of goopy, and I assume my inner seal has given way. 2 questions...
I have bench seats in my Deuce. I now have a cover with the tarp and the struts and what not. I know this is a stupid question, but how do you have a deuce with a tarp and troop bench seats? Not?
My deuce is manual steering, and that is why I posted with the heading. It really hurt when it came around today. Busted a vein in my right hand which looks really ugly right now, even with ice on it. I initially put it on the steering wheel to try and make better turns on the snake backs and...
O.K., sorry. I'm serious though, guys, I'm taking the spinner wheel off my STEERING WHEEL. If I EVER see spinner wheels on a deuce, I'll have a stroke.
Members, do not put a spinner wheel on your steering wheel! It will cause great pain (eventually) when you let that baby loose. I thought I could be Steve McQueen with a spinner wheel and it finally caught me today, right on my wrist, and busted a vein in my right wrist. It's coming off...
I don't mean to throw a skunk in the living room, but a nice clean fuel tank is a good start. After I purchased my deuces, I dropped the tanks and had them coated with RedCoat; examined the in tank pumps in the process, and put them back in, cleaned out. Haven't had a problem since. I...
