Ft. Lauderdale, FL meet-up @ carshow every Friday night

After 13 years in South Florida I finally made it to the car show. It was VERY cool and I had the opportunity to see old cars, new cars and cars I have never even heard of before! I saw the military section and said hi to the guys. I hope to get my M1009 CUCV out there someday...when I think...

Curious if im slowly killing my truck..?

I have road-tripped between Miami and Tampa, North Carolina and Virginia regularly. I find my 1009 likes to creep up to 75-80 if I am not keeping an eye on the GPS. I try to keep it around 70. I have put thousands of road miles on my truck with no engine problems at all (suspension, u-joints...

    M1009 Question, Jacks for lifting

I carry this 3 ton floor jack from Home Depot. Lifts fine, is high enough and was cheap: 3-Ton Commercial Jack-MPL1449-HD at The Home Depot I also have a couple of 3 ton jack stands that were also pretty cheap from Harbor Freight. Again, they were high enough and the price was right.

    M1009 Rear Differential Yoke

Thanks for the 3R rear pinion yoke part number. It will be a nice addition to my parts list. For info purposes the 1310 yoke I put on the rear was from Powertrain Industries and was part # 3104-30. The 1310 U-bolt kit for it was a Spicer 2-94-28X. It all went on nice and I shouldn't have the...

    M1009 Rear Differential Yoke

Guess I still got alot to learn gents. Work is in process and parts have been ordered so 1310 it is. I wanna replace the front u-joints too. Are they all 3R like the rear? Barring anything "funny" like I am about to do to the rear that is...

    M1009 Rear Differential Yoke

Thanks again for all the help guys. DH - Turns out there is a Fleet Pride in Miami. I will keep them in mind in the future LJD - Those are the pointers I was looking for. I have since learned that the u-joints are 3R and that there are sources to buy the yoke new as well. Thanks for the...

    M1009 Rear Differential Yoke

Thanks for all the tips guys. Found a driveshaft shop in Miami and will have an estimate to replace the end yoke (rear to diff) on it (and u-joints while it's there). I will probably go with a used rear diff yoke, put it all together and call it done for another 25 year...I hope! If anybody else...

    M1009 Rear Differential Yoke

ken - Well I see what you are saying. The cover is indeed different and when I drained/cleaned/filled the diffs the gaskets were different as well. Are you saying that the covers/parts are interchangeable?

    M1009 Rear Differential Yoke

Kip - it has vibrated sporadically and very slightly at highway speeds since I bought it. I figured it was just the way old trucks were. The other day, while out driving, it vibrated REALLY bad and as I was looking for a place to get off the road, turn around and take a look it let loose. i...

    M1009 Rear Differential Yoke

I always hear and read that the M1009 have GM 10 bolt's front and rear. Mine clearly does not. I have a 10 bolt in the rear and a Dana 44 in the front. Both have 10 bolts, true. But they are not the same. No idea if the pinion yoke is the same. V8 - thanks for the pointer HAWK - I just may PM...

    M1009 Rear Differential Yoke

Hi Guys - My rear u-joint "grenaded" and caused the prob in the pics. Does anybody have a source to purchase a new rear diff pinion yoke? Also, I have seen mention of the NAPA part number for those u-joints being NPJ P534G but do we know what the spicer 13XX equivalent...

    CUCV "Must do" mods?

My '09 ran amazingly well when I got it although it looked like it had 25 years of dust and dirt caked on the interior. So I was lucky enough to dedicate a little time doing ALL of the above at my leisure! The Tranny pan leaked as well as both diffs. The diff oil was NASTY but all other fluids...

I hate the Smell of Maple Syrup

Just pulled my heater core due to the same green puddle in the passenger side floor. Thanks a bunch to IRWFO for the pics. Between those and the -20 it was an easy pull. I have a new heater core and hoses, cleaned up the heater box but can't find the heater core seals. Mine are in pretty bad...
