they have a 654 allison transmission. and for water trucks my trans guy gets the 1st and reverse from a 540 allison and puts it in the 654 to have a super low 1st gear and a quicker reverse. in stock form its the opisite. btw theses transmissions are tough we have one m923 water truck with over...
on my m923's when the fan clutch goes out it takes the radiator out with it. i bolt the the fan to the clutch so its always spinning but it eats the bearings out. i replace them once maybe twice a year depending on how hard the job is.
make it 11mph with the 1600r20s lol
there is some since you have to line it up where you want it then take it off make some brackets make sure those brackets fit etc.

after looking at wehrings build when i bob mine ill be moving the diff back about a foot and cutting the original bed to 12 feet. and with the 1600xzls i love the way it looks. and for the suspension i have a complete front suspension kit that i can put on the rear but ill give it some thought...
i have water trucks with the 250 and 8.3 although there both great i have a problem with the 250 with the sleeves cracking due to the electrolysys. theres one with the 8.3 with well over 15000 hours pedal to the metal and it running great still. to me the 8.3 is lighter, more powerful. and less...
