Honestly I've tried that link nearly every time I've seen it posted but always get the "cannot load page" error. I just assumed it was a dead link as most of the threads where kinda old.
Maybe just my computer? I wouldn't have thought so but...
Edit: interestingly enough it loads on my phone...
authenticity would be key to value, sure the simple fact that it is armored would add value but even more if it was as it "should be". again the weight is a huge consideration so your looking at more upgrades and allot more maintenance.
plan on getting shot at? the added weight for a full up armor is rough on the suspension but resale would prob be very high. on the other hand if your going through all the work then might as well go all the way.
well saturn sent me spindle bushings instead of king pin bushings so has ayone done these before? they are a little warn so might as well but i havent seen any info on it and still cant get the TM's (little frustrated, maybe time to buy them)
just wondering if anyone has pointers, yes it needs...
thanks but im going to try and re use mine, ill replace the fender if i can find one local but changing out the tub isnt somthing i want to get into right now. cab top is another issue all together, sadly thats not in the budget at this point either...
started raining so in for the night...
got caught up on the inner axle seal on this side and spent the better part of the day getting it out. the regular seal puller was no match for this at all so i fabbed a quick puller that failed miserablyc(underestimated the forces at play. my second attempt was much stronger and worked well. i...
Started the drivers side today and the hubs don't look pretty. Seems there was water in it at some point so the spindle and the inside of the bearings have signs of rust, still feels smooth so fingers crossed
My first thought was to replace it until I saw the prices at northeastern surplus and the likes, besides shipping would be painful and I'm on a very tight budget. If I can find one within an hour or so of me id go get it if it was cheap enough
Been up to quite a bit on the truck lately, among the many projects Has been to get the truck preped for fresh paint, unfortunately it looks like it's going to be far more involved than I had anticipated. The rot is more extensive than can be seen until I started using the wire wheel to get the...
thank you, i may try rtv for now but honestly im afraid to get it in the bearing, then again it was full of some nasty crud so rtv probably wouldnt be the worst of it. ill calll about the gasket in the morning.
i would check and repack the bearings in the rear as well. romoving the axles and leaving the hubs exposed could have allowed the grease to be forced out and also allowed road grime in.
still cant get into the TM section and the searches didnt yeild me anything except a small exploded diagram with no information except on the seals themselves.
just removed and replaced the input shaft seal on my garwood 10K and im at a dilema. the aluminum plate that the seal is pressed into...
depends, mine where just fine at 50 front/40-45 rear (my street pressure) but you can adjust as conditions change. on the dunes i could have benefited alot from lower pressure.
consider that uneven tire ware could simply pull/push them around a bit. sometimes when i park mine still arnt perfectly centered. i also agree with gimp to inspect the suspension, but just because its a good practice.
Forgive me if this sounds demeaning but as I know absolutely nothing about you...
The rear axles on the deuce are designed to "float", they can move left and right about an inch or so each as the leafs move on the pads above the axles. The torque rods are what actually hold the axels in place...
i would think at least for the front axle that a wider tire would be an improvement. the stock dual rear tires already have a fairly large footprint and can be aired down very low, assuming good tread i don't think there is much need for improvement there. the front will want to dig in a bit due...
