We had a great time. Did not think I would know anyone but ran into people I haven,t seen for 20 years. A real quality show unlike the gun shows that are now 50% junk and not related to the hobby. I complimented some of the host members and MVPA staff. The hotel and Expo center were an ideal...
I have to vote for keeping it original. Many of the 1999 auction trucks have been heavily modified. You will spend enough with what you have mentioned without major changes. Again, good luck and have fun.
Nice looking installation. Many feel that the 6TLs are too heavy for the location, especially with rust, etc. Planning on going with group 31s in M1008. They fit fine with original hold downs in M1009.
Sounds like you got a fair deal. Don't worry about the EUC delay. I have had private transactions take longer. It is part of the hobby. If you are in Dallas area and need any HMMWV stuff PM me. Good luck. Bob
I agree that 15 miles is not very far. However, if this guy has 30 HMMWVs he must have a trailer or tow bar and expertise to transport it. I would negotiate with him to deliver it It worked for me on my last purchase and it was 1400 miles away!
Well guess what they are not in Kansas anymore! Said by a Kansan...New York City I would guess. Wish they would take their illgotten gains and leave us alone. OK I feel slightly better...send me a bill.
Sorry to hear this. I have to wonder the reasons. I agree that we brought some business there. Not just food but Lowes got my business but not anymore! I never heard of a single problem at this informal car show. If they are just greedy they could charge. I have to wonder about...
I think there is still pent up demand for HMMWVs. Prior to the recent auctions there were about 12,000 H1s and probably 1,000 plus military HMMWVs from 1999 auction, salvage, sale by contracters, etc no one seems to know for sure. Now that prices are low and probably headed lower many can...
Just wanted to add that both of my HMMWVs have the chevrons pointed forward and work fine. I did not flip them that is way they were on M1101/M1102 trailers that I bought. Just decided to do it and it does look better. Who cares, right?
I agree the M101 is a possible choice although above what is specified in the -10. Look at the mounting of the pintle on the M1009. It is really more of a bumper mount than a frame mount. I believe that the civilian Blazers can pull more. I'm sure the mount can be beefed up on the M1009. The...
The -10 states that the M1009 can tow the M416 with maximum towed load of 1200lbs. Tongue weight not to exceed 100 lbs. So the M1101 would exceed the maximum. The M1008 would be a better choicewith 3100 lbs towed capacity and pintle height.
Did not know you are a Seahawk mechanic..hope my battery suggestion did not insult you. There a frequent posts on this site and others about disasters when not disconnecting batterys. For example frying the EES on HMMWV...very expensive mistake. So when ever I mention anything electrical like...
Welcome from San Antonio. These are good starter trucks for military collectors. Parts are pretty easy to find and many shops can work on them if necessary. I did the Doghead starter relay on both of mine. At $13.00 cheap mod to do...just remember to disconnect batterys before doing...
Sprayed one detached and one installed, Worked fine each way. They seem to break when you try to remove them. Just mask them and spray after masking. Works fine. Good match. Used the 38353 Prep prior to spraying.
