Found this. Is this all because of the hub's being different, or are mounting flanges different widths, or are the axles and tubes diffetenti assume that they are measuring from mounting surfaces, or outer brake drum?
SRW (single rear wheel truck) 67.5"
DRW (dual rear wheel truck) 72"

I am staying 14 bolt as I have the locker for it.
I also have wondered if I can just put the dually hub's on my 14 bolt axle and save a lot of work?
-Is the axle tube strong enough to be worth it?
-I have fenders I can use if needed.
-Wider would cut down on sway right?
-Are there cucv dually...
So, sounds like the narrow 14 bolt will work and keep the outer wheels closer in from the curb.
Then I may need to go to a flat bed, or cut up my bed.
The front dually hub's are good to go.

Here's what I managed to find:
Front hubs, 2 new rotors, 2 rims for my hub's and rotors.
14 bolt dually rear, and 6 rims and 4 good tires, 2 steel spacers, $600.
I hope to reuse my calipers and pads up front.

How would I make my m1008 into a dually on the cheap? I'd like to keep my axle and do I have a way to use all my OEM rims?
I've got to wondering from to much time on my hands.
Most of up front space has oil, and trans coolers, and electric fans in it. I was avoiding putting the "inter boost charge air to air cooler" down low or out front to avoid road damage.
Anything I can do to lower eggs and up power is good. I have added a better ylturbo etc, as in my signature...
I understand, I do have braked axles. I've burnt a couple sets of brakes towing trailers without them. I know rims with air flow would help too, but I actually like the factory steel ones.
I am pleased with my STA Superlugs. 9x16, 36" tall, 14ply. Do not need a lift for them to fit. They are bias ply and you do notice that. I have driven a lot on them. Wear like iron, good on the highway, remarkably deep lugs. Not a soft mud tire, but great in snow and mud if there is a...
