Your best / easier bet is a 6.5 turbo with a HX40WII turbo swapped in and a strong injection pump and injectors. Add all the cooling upgrades ( latest oem water pump, Nerw fan clutch and tighten the spring, D-max fan, new radiator) and auxiliary coolers. Tall tires to get to 55mph and...
STA Bias ply 9x16 will get you up to a 36 inch tall tire. They are hard to balance and will hold a flat spot on the bottom awhile after sitting. I run the 14 ply tires. no issues yet except the balance. Going to try the two golf balls in the tire trick as the equal is not working consistently.
I've a 3" to a 4" exhaust with 2.5 crossover. Big difference, but tight to fit.
The inter-cooler is nice. I'm going to run an HX40WII and WMI (water methanol injection) aka cheapo windshield washer fluid, instead.
I have a turbo in it. The down pipe hits. The fabbed cross over hangs to low. I am adding an inch of body lift. An engine lift would settle some issues nicely. Can you provide a link to the ord parts?
I tried 3 brands available locally.
Magjic: No good, splotchy and applies poorly.
Krylon: Fair, applies unevenly and the green is to bright.
Rustoluem: Good. Colors are close and the newer cans that claim better coverage apply even and steady.
Rustoleum is harder to find around here for...
Looking to replace my pads and shoes, rotors and calipers.
What the better quality parts?
Anyone know of an auto parts supplier who offers a veterans discount like Lowes does?
No No, I mean like putting rubber back in where rubber once was. Think holes, not punctures. Besides my tires don't take patch cement. I've tried buffing, sanding, scraping. Cleaning with brake cleaner, alcohol etc. The patch just peels off.
I've taken to patching the tube, and using pull...
I'd like to learn to do hot repairs to tires. For old bias ply type tires and farm equipment. Any chance one of you would happen to know some about this?
Do not forget cooling. Hi output later 6.5 water pump, a D-max or Kennedy diesel fan, a new heavy duty fan clutch. Trans cooler as mentioned.
For power, a 6.5 turbo made a world of difference and does not ruin an otherwise otherwise original CUCV, it can be kept 24v with dual alternators if...
