Am reviving this thread as I have a 1970 M35A2 w/w that has the original harnesses on it and as usual the insulation is giving out after 39 years. Yes I know, imagine that. LOL
Anyway this is a great threat but latest info is a few years old now and things have changed for M35 trucks in the...
So has anyone found out if a truck plate must be used for an M35A2 if you were to find a correct year of manufacture plate?
I have a 1970 and I found an Oldham County 1970 car plate in great shape that is for sale.
Can it be a car plate or did Kentucky require a truck plate at the time...
I purchased another EG23 from NAPA and am running new wiring to all 4 corners for turn signals clear from the switch.
There is an intermittent short somewhere as it will work fr a while and then role onto it's back and go Tango Uniform.
I am going to smokecheck all the new wiring twice before...
I did swap the wires after checking them from the turnsignal switch to the flasher.
Plugged in my NOS military flasher that I purchased back in 2009.
Blue smoke in 20 seconds. :sad:aua
I am running all new turn signal wiring and installing at least two new lights.
Will experiment with an EG23...
I had a steady on indicator light on the switch but no actual flasher with the military unit.
I replaced it with an EG23. I had turn signals for a few days and then nothing.
I figured that I smoked my recently installed EG23 and that I still had issues somewhere in the wiring.
I found an...
Hey over there dmetalmiki,
Where did you hook up your wet gage to the engine?
Did you remove the electric sensor and attach it there or somewhere else?
Is your gage a 80 PSI unit?
Thanks in advance.

While driving my M35A2 n my trip of 870 miles to it's new home the engine oil pressure pegged out at about 2300 RPM with the engine temp in the normal range for cruising down the road. At idle the RPM fluctuates from mid-range to pegged out after pulling over at an exit.
The engine ran fine the...
I will post pictures when I arrive home.
I purchased a glad hand connector and 50 foot 1/2 airhose.
With air power, I used a die grinder and cut about 1.5 inches of the inner race lip off.
I then starting cutting the bearing cage and removed one roller at a time.
About 3 hours from start to...
Hello.
I pulled my front drive flange off to install the locking hub and the outer bearing was badly rusted.
I urgently need to get the hub off to install new bearings & outer races and get my truck on the road.
I am very familiar with the drivetrain and have replaced the races, brakes, and...
I have a running, driving M35A2 with functioning M105 trailer to move from Baton Rouge or new Orleans or Lafayette,LA to Knoxville or Nashville, TN.
I would like to drop it off by Feb 1st but there is no hurry for delivery. Any of those areas for drop off and pickup are general areas.
Please...
I found one of the old tail lights in the barn tonight and I tried switching the covers.
They do fit just fine but I did have to keep the longer screws with the newer cover as it is thicker.
Thank you.

Has anyone ever taken a lens cover assembly from an aluminum housing tail light and installed it in the composite (plastic) light? Or, have you taken a composite lens assembly and installed it on the aluminum light housing?
Same with the front lights. Are the covers interchangeable between the...
I have a question or two on wheel bearing servicing.
I last did all the bearings and brakes on a Deuce about 8 years ago so I am rusty.
I have all of the TMs in PDF and I see the information in this thread on the area of instruction for the bearings.
I "thought" that I remembered an area where a...
I was able to check things out yesterday. The forward plunger on the wheel cylinder stuck in the partially extended position.
I drove the plunger back in, retracted the shoes in as far as possible, repacked the bearings, and reinstalled the hub.
The last owner did not know what he was doing...
Does anyone remember what size wrench is used to adjust the brakes?
I want to make sure I take it along as it is such a long trip to end up without
something vitally important.
Jim
That is what I am thinking.
Am about 90 % sure that I have a broken shoe, binding shoes due to a spring issue, or a stuck wheel cylinder.
I just want to make sure since it is a 400 mile round trip to get back home.
I would rather take too much than one single, not enough, item.
Jim
I purchased by M35A2 W/W from the last owner over in Texas.
Got it 300 miles down the road and the truck started acting like it was lacking power.
Pulled over to put more diesel in as the last stop was 1/3 gasoline and 2/3 diesel.
Some trucks don't like gas and the lack power with gas in the...
