cucv m1009 antenna mounting bracket help.

Mine were 5/16-18. Grab a handfull of bolts and start testing. Keep in mind if 1/4, 5/16 or 3/8 coarse thread do not fit they could be fine thread (or damaged even).

    Slave cable source?

Nonotagain, you beat me to it. :) I am not sure if you are thinking of #8 wire but that is kind of small. From this document: http://contracting.tacom.army.mil/ssn/dsbs/NATO%20STANAG%204074%20APU%20Connections%20attach11.pdf Electrical characteristics for connectors í~11ug and receptacle...

Glow plug wait light comes on

According to antennaclimber's glow plug theory of operation the problem could be an intermittent short in the wire from the light to the glow plug controller. Or as others have mentioned the control card could have issues. http://www.steelsoldiers.com/cucv/62477-gp-module-theory-operation.html

Glow plug wait light comes on

Not necessarily. You should see your voltage drop (on the meter) if the glow plugs are being energized (assuming the glow plugs are good).

    No Lights

Should that not be battery voltage? More like twelve dot something volts. Sounds like poor electrical connections are causing a voltage drop somewhere between the point you measured voltage and the positive post on the front battery. "If it is electrical clean it". Start at the switch...

    Oil

LO9-2320-209-12 Lubrication order for all variants of the CUCV I do not think you can go wrong with any diesel specific 15W40. Most if not all diesel specific oils today exceed the requirements of the original spec oil.

    Batteries not holding a charge

Did you have the starter tested? Perhaps it is damaged and drawing way too much current even though it still turns the engine over.

Rear window question before ordering parts...

You can skip 2 if your seal is in good shape and 3 if you do not want to change keys for the back window. I do not think you can get anything but chrome. The chrome one I installed matches the chrome one the national guard had installed before I got the truck. Who puts a window in the middle...

    Starter started smoking

 I do not think I would go that far. I would stop at pretentious electrical know-it-all who is good for a laugh or two. Any electrical supply house should have some form of conductive anti-oxidant grease. Might even be able to get it at larger hardware stores. Been using it at work...

    Starter started smoking

Due to my anal retentive nature I must point out that dielectric grease does not conduct electricity but it does keep the junk off your electrical connections. What Is Dielectric Grease? Dielectric grease is a non-conductive, silicone grease designed to seal out moisture and, therefore...

M1009 - Hard starting when Cold

Crawl under the truck and reach up from the bottom with a deep 10mm socket on a standard 3/8 drive ratchet. You can get to the two back plugs that way. When installing the new plugs I put a small electrical wire nut inside the socket to keep the new glow plug from pushing down inside of the...
