A while back I asked if someone would explain what "lockers" or "Detroit lockers" are. Still wondering.
And how do I find out if my M813A1 has them?

Got a hill on my property we call Hummer Hill. (Now come on you guys, this is a military vehicle website. I'm talking about the AM General Hummer.)
We named the hill, because guys from the Guard have brought Hummers over from time to time to see if they could climb the hill. They go right up...
I've made some good contacts for Deuce parts, but most of them don't have parts for my "new" M813A1.
I currently need a hand throttle cable & housing, & the small pressure gauge for the primer pump.
Anyone got extras, or know a good source?
By the way, my wife drove the 5 ton for the first time...
Curious about the M813A1 I recently got. Wondering what branch or unit it may have belonged to.
Any help appreciated.
VIN #NI063K C325-10247
Left rear bumperette marked "IN", right rear marked "9949".
"P425" on right rear of bed.

Well, I finally got all the parts to put the winch on my M35A2.
But now I want a winch on the "new" M813A1. I can't afford another winch right now, so I'm wondering about putting the Deuce winch on the 5 ton.
Anyone done it?
I wonder if the only difference might be the length of the driveshaft...
Tried to start "new" M813A1 at 30 degrees. Followed instructions on dash. Turned on glow plug & attempted to pump fuel with the hand pump. Pump goes in about half way, then stops solid. Gauge is stuck, so I don't know if there is any pressure build up.
Cranking good, but no start.
Had to use a...
The M813A1 has a rebuild tag on the left rear of the engine. Says it was overhauled at Ft Polk La, but no date shown.
Also has "MWO Applied, repaired, 2312, IM or 1M"
Anyone know what this means?

Okay, I brought the M813A1 home. Wow! What a difference from the Deuce. I LOVE the power steering.
With the 1400 tires, it really sits high. Ran just fine, about 60 miles. Seems to want to run 60 mph.
Question: Air pressure in the 1400 x 20 tires. Tires say 100 psi max. What would you run for...
I'm sitting here anxiously awaiting my buddy's arrival, so we can go pick up the M813A1.
Not really knowing what I bought yesterday, I have a question.
Does this truck have an air shift transfer case, or is it a Sprag?

My house needs a new roof. My pickup truck needs a new door. I have plenty of work to do on the 2 Deuces. Haven't even sorted out the Mighty Mite "kit" yet.
So............................
I bought a 5 ton.
Surely many of you will agree I did the right thing.
Because many of you have the same...
You guys were a really big help with leads on trucks for a buddy. Thanks.
Now he's also looking at an M135, & he's asking questions I can't answer.
What do you guys think of the automatic trans? Is it dependable? Are parts available? What's it like to repair? Would you buy a truck that had...
Looking into a 1958 M54 with gas engine.
Who can tell me something about the engine in this truck?
I assume it's bigger than the one in the gas deuce, but I know nothing about it.
Thanks,

I'm rigging some electrical items that use 24 volts. An inverter for AC power & some area lights.
I'd like to pick up a couple of 2-pin slave cable ends, to attach to these accessories.
Any idea who might have these ends?

FYI:
My non-turbo deuce averages 5 mpg traveling at 55mph.
Adding desplined hubs gave me 6.5 mpg.
Desplined hubs & 45 mph gave me 8.7 mpg.
I will be traveling slower from now on!

Got a buddy looking for a Deuce.
Multi or diesel, airshift.
Within about 500 miles of Northern (South Bend) Indiana.
Must be in pretty good shape & ready to be driven home.
Anybody?

Wanted to do a quick paint job on the wood sides I made for the generator trailer.
Took my Aervoe 987A sample to Lowes. Their computer color match was absolutely perfect!
Put about a quarter-sized dab of paint right on the sample. Looked like it was going to be too light. 30 Seconds with the...
I've come across a guy who has a lot of HMMWV parts for sale.
At a glance I saw mostly body components, but if anyone is looking for something specific, PM me & I'll check on it for you.
