That's too bad. It looks like rebuilding it is not an option for you. It's still a good idea to put new brushes in the replacement, (once you find a replacement), before installing.
I found a brush set + holder for mine on eBay for only a few $.
OD Iron also sells a remote oil filter setup. It uses a larger and better filter then the WIX 1970 series filter.

As for Pre/post...
That's a good idea. A street elbow would do the trick.
Good question...I am not entirely sure. The electronics cost $60-70, M151 starter cost $25+ship, Maybe $50 for plumbing? Thats all I can remember. I bought different things over several months, so I lost track.
Nope, no can do. Three...
Don't throw parts at your problem. Isn't the accessory switch a DPST switch? One pole could have failed. If that switch has failed, the alternator will not charge. You need to use a multimeter and get the wiring diagram out. You can download a diagram @...
The float switch is part of the cap. The wiring is simple. The float switch is closed when the fluid low. It controls the ground side of a relay. When that relay is activated, it provides power to the buzzer and light. I will take a picture of the cap. The power side of the coil it...
Here's a picture of when I was making the controller assembly. I installed the controller under the driver's seat. As with all connections, I used weather-pak connectors to connect it all together.
...Added a picture of the controller assembly installed under the driver's seat.
For air tools... I keep a 20 Ton Air-over-Hyro Bottle jack, air gauge with a 20 Ft air hose, and a 1" impact gun. For access to the air supply, why not add an air reel:

I wanted the lowest available spot. I figured it's no worse off then the commercially available setups. The idea of something snagging is a concern...somewhat. That's why the fittings are steel and why I used a hydraulic line. But it's not as bad as it seams in the picture. It would take an...
I got the hitch from Summit Racing.

I have a 12K 6" drop bar for it. That lines up nicely with my larger trailer. Put my smaller trailer may be out of luck.
24V relays are common and cheap if you know where to look. Everything...
This is something that I have been gathering up parts for sometime. The stock oil system simply sucks for the type of situation it is in (it's not in the arctic). The stock system takes 12-15 sec until oil pressure is built up. The stock filters don't filter very well. A year ago I updated...
I like the idea of adding a remote reservoir a lot. I got an old M/C reservoir off of an old Acura about a year ago to do this. I just machined some aluminum to the right diameter and made an adapter. Now the neat thing about this is the cap. The cap has a float switch. I have wired the...
I have finished my projects...For now. One of which was installing a class IV hitch on the Deuce and have a 12V outlet to allow the towing of typical trailers.
The wiring was simple. All you need is a 24V relay controlling a 12V circuit. You need a relay for tail lights, left turn/left...
