I'm sure the alcoholinjectionsystems pump is just a relabeled shurflo or similar type pump. But considering it's $140.00 and the shurflo pumps are in that ballpark price I'd just get the pump i know will work. That's just my opinion.
What size nozzle are you planning on running? I was...
Considering I have found dedicated water/meth injection pumps preset to 220psi for around $150.00 I just don't see it being worth it cobbling together extra bypass valves or pressure switches.
Then again I'm lazy and willing to spend a little more money. I know there are many guys who are...
The automatic pressure switch models work at 60psi. They shut off at 60 I believe. The bypass models also bypass at 60 psi. I don't know if you can adjust the bypass. The shurflo 8000-543-290 pump has no pressure switch or bypass. It runs up to 100 psi.
I don't know if any of these are...
I'm not sure. I know my local shop charges about $45 to rebuild an injector. There have been some threads where people built their own homemade pressure tester. I have a used injector line I can send you if you decide to go that route. I want to say they used a Porta power. And used the...
Your unit should be the haldex pure air plus. If I remember correctly there are only 2 kits available. Check Erik's military surplus. He has the 2 kits listed and the serial number range they apply to. It will also give you a price to reference.
Napa is as good as any place. There is a data plate on the air dryer. It will give you the model # and serial #. Just give that information to the parts guy.
Just rebuild it. It should take you about 30 min to do and it is way cheaper to rebuild one than buy a new one. Once you rebuild it everything but the housing is new. Just be sure to get the serial # off of the air dryer. There are different kits that correspond to different serial #'s.
I have black silicone boots on my truck. So far after a year and a half they are holding up. I get them from a local supplier. Pretty reasonable prices on them.
I should also add i haven't noticed any cracks or drying of the boot. I don't believe silicone dries out like rubber does anyway...
I'm still at a loss here as to what exactly should be greased in an air pack. The only 2 moving parts in the air side is the valve that senses when brake pressure is applied and then sends air to the air piston. I'm no expert in pneumatics but I would think greasing the valve would possibly...
Another feature advertised is they can make the copper gasket thicker to compensate for over milled heads and valve clearance issues. They also state that this can be done to lower compression. I'm sure at 22:1 compression in the multi fuel this would be marginal at best. However, since I...
A thought I have been mulling over is having custom copper head gaskets made modeled after the new style o.e.m gasket. One of the companies I found appears to be able to integrate stainless steel fire rings into the gasket. This is supposed to eliminate the need for installing o rings in the...
I'm not understanding the need for grease in an airpak. The long style needs periodic lubrication with air tool oil or a really light weight hydraulic oil. I forget specifically what it was called. I don't believe the short style even requires lubrication in the air end. After gutting a...
You won't always see a leaking wheel cylinder from the outside.
Try re bleeding the brakes first. Start at the air pak. Then go to the right rear most wheel. Then the left wheel. Then the right middle wheel. Then left middle.
Then go to the left front and then right front. The front...
