I'm bumping this instead of opening a new thread.
I can't find the whole 11677081 without sacrificing a body part to buy it...
But from all indications the combination of 2590-00-076-6001 plus 2920-01-011-9068 added to arsenal number 11630528 should be the old LD465 harness and the two updates...
Why ask why? It does get the intake out of the dust/water (for those who like to drown trucks,) it *might* offer a slight change in intake restriction...
But seriously, it just looks good.
A well designed one made by you looks even better. I want to see some designs!
Is that a flyable Mosquito? I thought they were all grounded/static and a few "in restoration"... but that bird looks almost flyable aside from the lack of drip pans/oil spots.
Do it! I would love to see an aggressive steel design!
4" diameter pipe, pressure box/scoop around that baffled in some way that prevents water from being directed into the intake, but out the bottom of the box without loss of pressure from the "ram."
Just angle the floor forward, and cut...
From the images I have seen, mine are plastic. But I didn't dismount or disassemble them. My air tool oil trick may, in fact, swell the seals excessively. So take my advice with a grain of salt. Personally, it was worth the risk. The excess oil was blowing out pretty fast, so I'm not that...
I'll try this again... I wrote out a 10 minute detailed explanation, and closed the window without hitting "post." aua
Anyway,
My wiper motors were both non-functional, (a) did not move in either direction, and (b) would move in one direction only.
Unit A:
I verified air supply and with no...
Master on
Shut Down pulled out all the way
Crank for several rotations.
If the engine stops suddenly, or does not crank, check battery voltage and connections and check for a hydrolocked cylinder. If the cylinder hydrolock scenario is suspected, pull the injectors and turn the engine over by...
It depends, if you have the shut-down handle pulled it should sound like a "Thunk" as the cylinder stops and the engine stops turning. If she's got the stop handle in, from what I've been told you can't hear anything over the firing of the "clear" cylinders... until it goes "Boom" anyway.
FWIW...
Seriously, it would be good to reach out to this poor guy and bring him up to speed. He's enthusiastic and seems like a nice enough guy, who just repeated things he heard from bad sources.
Bumping this because it seems to be the only wiring harness installation thread with a valid link. I'll be doing the job shortly and if anyone has any other links, it would be appreciated. (I have the diagram sticky, of course)
Heath
Woot! Just won a 60 amp Vanner Voltmaster.
12 volt bus bar, here I come.
I'm buying a new front wiring harness and I need one adapter to install the muffler. Got the old Parking brake cable 1/2 off, but the retaining ear(s) on the transfer case is 1/2 gone.(Outer-half busted off long ago...
Attempted to install the new parking brake cable and muffler, and had hoped to track and patch the rest of my wiring issues.
What got done?
Wiring insulation is falling apart like dried leaves EVERYWHERE I touch it. I going to be forced into that $250 wiring harness. :???:
The snow and...
No, it just isn't contaminated with ethanol.
Ethanol is a solvent for many things... many things used to seal and handle gasoline included.
All gasoline found outside of those labeled "E-Zero" or avgas, contains AT LEAST 10% Ethanol.
Considering the options, I might just stick with the Corney Keg... at least to start with. I'm just trying to think of a better low-cost pressure tank that can fit in either the pioneer rack location, or the gap behind the cab. Those two areas seem the best protected, yet accessible for filling...
She's a nice looking chunk of iron. Good to see you saved her from the scrapper and gave her a new life.
You might keep an ear to the ground for guys bobbing trucks near you. Most of them scrap the bed.
Bumping this up because barring unforeseen problems, I will be doing this mod tomorrow. Pictures to follow as well as an attempt at a before and after video with audio.
Edit: No joy. I need to grab an adapter to put the top back on. Maybe sunday.
I'm bumping this back up for the spring build season.
I have my EGT and the boost gauge. I'm shopping Parker solenoid valves. I have been debating the "Corny Keg" and making a tank out of sched 40 or 80 PVC. Air line connected to the top, a fill port, and the drain and output line on the...
My alternative energy prof was talking about these... it was the big push during the Bush years. (Hydrogen economy) As you said, the problem is, hydrogen is primarily sourced from oil refineries. It just isn't efficient to produce hydrogen.
One that I'm fairly certain you might see in the near...
