    Bad turbo

Alternatively, how much is a turbo? Maybe I could just take a good working one with me and swap it in.

    Bad turbo

So, let's say I have no idea what's actually wrong with it. What is the best and safest way to just disable it until I can get home and troubleshoot.

    Bad turbo

Will the truck run if the turbo is bad (i.e. inoperable)? I'm looking at one that has a bad turbo and just need to limp it home.

    HP and Torque ???

I've read multiple different threads on here that indicate that 200 hp is about the best you are going to get out of an LDT-465 without destroying it. That being said, I've never noticed anyone saying anything about a dyno.

    HP and Torque ???

Haha....it was only a matter of time. If you're interested, I got that quote here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Godwin%27s_law That might be my favorite page on Wikipedia. The funniest thing is that since I read that, I've noticed it happens a lot.

    HP and Torque ???

The ~134hp and ~325tq numbers are the published specs by the manufacturer. I'm not saying they are exact, but they are not wild-assed guesses.

    HP and Torque ???

And there's the rub. I'm sure someone who knows what they are doing can safely "hotrod" a 465. But, in the end, what have you got? Maybe 200hp and a motor you have to be careful with to not blow it up? Drop in a Cummins and be done with it.

    GL the company is SOLD!?!?

If that's true, maybe the whole titling situation will get better. If they have to own the property they might have to obtain title themselves.

    HP and Torque ???

From what all I have read and having driven mine on and off road, I'd say you're wasting your time trying to beef up the stock motor. It just wasn't designed for that type of performance. Someone queue up the hole-in-the-engine-block picture.

Do you still have this stuff? I might be interested in the troop seats...just the hardware, I'll cut my own wood.

    Marines...... Good Experience or Bad???

I have no military experience at all, but I always thought that if I was going to join, I would probably pick the Marines. I've read a lot of WWII history and one of the things that struck me was the interviews with the guys in Band of Brothers, the 82nd Airborne, I believe. They said they...

    Forty Below Zero Deuce

Getting the tires warmed up makes a big difference, too, I think.

Deuce w/winch for sale in Kansas City, MO

The Pinzgauers are very cool, but a little pricey like you said. Plus, I just have a thing for US military trucks :)

I have a 1971 General Products M35A2 w/winch and hardtop for sale. You can see the craigslist listing here: http://kansascity.craigslist.org/cto/922407632.html and I'll post the SS classifieds link when I get it posted. It's a beautiful, strong-running truck and I've recently taken it on a...

    Cold starting

Well, I did a little experimentation this morning. First, I let the in-tank pump run for about 20 seconds. Also, I pulled the throttle about two clicks. It fired, died, fired again and kept running, so that's an improvement. Looks like it just needs a little fuel when it's cold. I just hate...

    Cold starting

I thought about that and have bled the system very well, so i don't think it's an issue. Also, it fires before the first full turn when the air is warm.

    Cold starting

I checked the other cold-starting threads and didn't see this exact scenario, so here goes. It's getting a little colder around here, now, and the deuce is a little hard starting. What's weird is that it fires immediately, just like when it's warm, but then dies after a couple seconds of...

    Transmission(transfer case?) mount question

If it's like the M1009, the tranny to t-case adapter mounts to the cross member, so it's a one-piece deal. There is no other attachment to the frame on the tranny or t-case.
