Re: RE: Re: RE: Pulling one wheel from the duals
That's what I was afraid of :)
I figure if the military put it on there, who am I to argue? This thing may only get a couple hundred miles a year on it (if that), so I'm not too worried about it. I had to jump on the straight bar to loosen...
RE: Re: RE: Pulling one wheel from the duals
Thanks for all the info, guys. I got my nuts off just fine. :) My truck came with the tire tools and a 3-ton jack, so I had everything I needed. I just had to stand on the straight bar to break them loose. I used the same method to put them back...
Re: RE: Pulling one wheel from the duals
So, what does the Budd cap do? Does it hold the inner wheel on? I guess it will probably make more sense when I pull off the outer one. I'll check the TM, I didn't see this in there, but maybe I missed it.
Okay, this is probably a stupid question, but this is my first "big" truck, so here goes. How do I pull just one wheel from the duals in the back? I'd like to be able to drive the inner tire up on a board and pull the outer wheel. I see there are lug nuts and Budd caps, what is the purpose of...
RE: sw vmo
I'm in Platte City, North of Kansas City by the airport. I used to live in Columbia and worked in Jeff City for several years. I always like to stop at Central Dairy when I'm in town.
Go Tigers! (National Championship coming soon to mid-Missouri.....I hope)
Here are some pics of the top installed. It was originally desert tan but I put one coat of Krylon Green Camo on it. That CARC really soaks it up, so I think I'll do another coat. The one from the front is so you can see the dent. I was able to pop it up some just by standing in the cab and...
Well, that's what I meant. "Rich" and "lean" were probably the wrong terms. I'm new to this diesel thing, although in some respects it is quite a bit simpler than a gas engine, especially troubleshooting.
Either it's not getting enough fuel and sapping power or it's getting too much and not...
The document you just posted says the FDC varies the flow rate of the fuel based on viscosity, which is directly correlated to heat value per gallon (i.e. "power" per gallon).
In other words, fuel with less power (i.e. thinner fuel) is allowed at a higher rate than fuels with more power (i.e...
Well, I didn't get any pictures, but everything went well. Here was the process:
1) Remove the soft top from the frame. I found the easiest way was to slide the rear up and out and the flip it over onto the hood. Then the front should slide out pretty easily as long as the channel isn't...
Re: RE: Re: RE: Installing a hardtop
Yep, I'll try and do that. My helper (dad) can be a little impatient sometimes, so waiting around to document this may not be his idea of fun :)
Re: RE: Installing a hardtop
It's a two-piece top but came in one piece with all the weatherstripping still there. Do you see any problems lifting the whole thing on and bolting it in?
Just picked up a new hardtop. $150 delivered, pretty good deal. Has a small dent in the "brow", but nothing major.
Anyway, I want to get this thing installed and had a couple of questions.
1) Does it take any special hardware? I figured just nuts and bolts, maybe washers.
2) Can I install...
Well, it did make a significant noise difference. What is gone is the high end "popping" you get from the straight pipe. The rumble of the motor, road noise, fan noise, etc. are all still there, but the part that hurts your ears is gone.
I like the stock noise, I'm just trying to be a good...
